The whole chakra thing is confusing

First it's S06P taught everyone how to use chakra but now his chakra comes from genetics and all of a sudden everyone's kids automatically get chakra when they're born and now it's essential to live but their ancestors didn't even know chakra existed before his mom ate the fruit and they didn't die how does this make sense?
