On Sunday, April 28th, 2013, the world came to an abrupt and sudden end. Everyone lost consciousness, everything went black, and when they opened their eyes, minutes or hours later, the world was irrevocably changed. In the interim had been made wreckage, a twisted reflection of what it used to be.
Including most of the people in it.
Almost everyone was dead, entire families now just corpses. The living were few and far between, and even they didn’t wake up wholly unaltered. Some woke up the same as they’d ever been and some woke up stronger than they’d ever been in their lives. Whether blessed or cursed, they were still the lucky ones.
Everyone else came back as a monster.

A year later, it happened again. Friends and allies were lost in the second apocalypse and those that woke up found their powers and talents strengthened beyond what they could hope for.
But that wasn’t all.
The rifts came soon after, ripping holes in the earth, in the very fabric space. Rifts between our world and the next. Legions of demons and monsters walked through the gates. Desolation followed in their wake. The rifts could leave gaping chasms, molten rivers, and ash-filled wastelands.
They destroyed the world and life was never the same.

Five years later, humanity still clings to existence. The definition of morality and civilization has been blurred. Good people will often turn to evil methods to ensure their survival. The survivors not only continue to fight the monsters in the world, but each other as well. Roving bandits, starved lunatics, cannibalistic cities, they all exist.
Everything may be a threat.
In the city of Dallas, a last bastion of civilization has been established. They’ve fortified themselves into the city borders and have done everything they can to make the city functional again. The citizens of this apocalyptic survivor’s city are about to meet a militant convoy that brings an eerie message:
Move or die. They are coming.
