I honestly do like Naruto towards the end of the manga. Beginning at the Madara fight after so6p.
But every thing between the Sasuke retrieval arc up til he meets sage of 6 paths is meh.
And be real here, the only difference between a hippie & Naruto is that a hippie is to lazy to chase anyone around.
You may as well say part 1 Naruto, because in both of those scans is something he would had totally done. I still remember when Naruto thought Haku killed Sasuke, pissed off kyuubi Naruto let that grunt out "I'M GONNA KILL YOU!" Brings back memories.

His character became about Peace. So what? I'm not saying that's unlike a hippie, I'm saying it's unbelievable that someone were to say that Naruto in the OP is better than the Naruto you dislike.
The Pilot Naruto is a horrible character. The one between the Sasuke Retrieval arc and the Sage of six paths was objectively better even if he's just "meh".

I preferred early concept design Shino-esque Sasuke.
Can anybody find the scan? It shows the early designs of team 7, Sasuke has a high collar.

I never actually read the original pilot so thanks for sharing!
The 3rd hokage looks much better as he chief and is much stronger being the only one who survived the attack.
I kinda like that its just a mystical world rather than the 5 great nations cuz they werent really developed in Naruto, and all the extra background context fell apart to just uchiha and senju.
I miss Naruto being a kid going around exploring and making new friends. His misunderstanding and somewhat hatred of humans reminds me of the original Gaara or even the parasite Migi from Parasyte.

I honestly don't see what's wrong with Naruto being a mischievous kid.
Of course he would grow out of it. Im all for Naruto wanting peace through love I just wish he was a tad bit more abrasive. Not like Sasuke but violent & willing to kill when needs be.
Ex: Obito, He should of never showed him sympathy. Sasuke, I understand they were friends but in all honesty, realistically he should've wanted to help Sasuke but also come to the conclusion that the village weighs more than Sasuke. He shouldn't have been willing to die with him, should've came to the conviction that Sasuke may need to be killed for the world to move forward with peace.
Just my opinion though and everyone's differ, but that's alright.
@bold: Not saying Naruto could pull it off as they'd just stalemate but that's what I would've wanted his mindset to be
