I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that after the truce was made Hashirama traveled there to get some help with the tailed beasts.

Honestly, it is difficult to say what the Uzumaki were doing at this point in time, but its something I reaaallllyy want to know. There just isn't much to go on since this is the first time we have heard a first-hand aaccount about pre-konoha. What I am even more curious about, and it ties in to this thread, is had Mito and Hashirama met at this point in time already? If so, then yeah, it is really strange that there were no Uzumaki there. They had to have met around this time I assume? It is something I've been keeping an eye out for.

They were separated by sea between the Land of Fire and the Land of Eddys so they were untouched by the war and remained apathetic to the fighting because it didn't concern nor affected them.

Something about the Uzumaki Clan not showing themselves during those times tells me that more than a Shinobi Clan, they were kind of a Religion. Or rather, a Noble Family, dedicated to provide spiritual guiding. Think about it, why else would their sealing techniques be so powerful that the actual Grim Reaper could be summoned by them? Something makes me thing that, while the Senju and the Uchiha were fighting each other, the Uzumaki's enemies were something else... Spirits, or powerful creatures. Who knows? Maybe the Juubi's splitting into nine Bijuu left more in that world than just nine Bijuu! Why specializing in just sealing techniques? What were they trying to seal, to contain or to stop?


There is something here. Mito's timing at sealing the Kyuubi was too great, and for one, she looks like the proper priestess, doesn't she? Ain't priestess in japan looked like spiritual guides? Derp Obito, what cha thinking?
