through out the series, the uzumaki have always been on the sidelines...... i was seriously hoping kishi would give the uzumaki clan more consideration. hell even clans like the akimichi and them thousand fodder clans played more role than the uzumaki's
Even a flashback as to what really happened and led to their downfall would have been enough. all we had of the was " Uzumaki Ichizoku) was a prominent clan in Uzushiogakure. They were distant blood relatives of the Senju clan and as such, both were on good terms; an alliance that extended onto their hidden villages — Konohagakure and Uzushiogakur........" shit
i know many of us have immagined shit, predicted shit, and hoped to see more shit about them uzumaki's

Read a theory one time stating that they were wiped out by the bloody Mist during the 3rd great shinobi war.

Kishi couldn't help it. He had to satisfy his (and unfortunately the fanbase's) uchiha fetish.
To think we learnt more about the uchiha more than we did about Naruto's own background is crazy.

Then again, Madara does rock

Hyuugas and Uzumaki's deserved to be more focused on than the Uchiha. But luckly for us one Uzumaki always took the spotlight from the Uchiha. And that is no one other than Naruto Uzumaki.

Would make sense. Since Kiri hates people with KKG and even wiped out two of their own clans (Yuki and Kaguya) with KKG out of fear.

I think stated on the wiki and somewhere in the manga it took kumo, iwa and kiri with several smaller villages such as Takigakure to destroy the uzumaki despite the village being smaller than any of the big 5 villages...I suppose fuinjutstu does that. But it also states im pretty sure thats what started the 3rd shinobi war.

Well the Uchiha WERE the main problem. I agree with you, but the Uchiha were a bigger focus because they were a major threat. No Uchiha, no plot.

They were also manipulated by Madara who was aware of Uzumaki potential.

Couldn't be Madara. Kushina and her village were both still around by the time the Uzu village was destroyed.

Uzumaki were still around in Kushina's time when she was a child but Madara was alive until Kakashi's time after Hashi and Mito's death so it's highly likely he was behind it.

If you think about it the Uzumaki were the only clan capable of preventing IT plan by becoming jinchuuriki. In addition they had the potential to use Sharingan on the same level as Uchiha due to their stamina.

Didnt they explained what happened to the Hidden Eddy Village on Nagato's backstory?

Also it was Tobi's scheme that the 4 villages attack the Hidden Eddy and they asked for Hidden Leaf's help but nothing came.

Darn Leafs. So yeah just blame everything that had happened on the Leaf.

They were the plot yes. But they were not the bigger focus than Naruto Uzumaki. Kishi made it clear he was the special one.

Or just Hiruzen.

Uchiha Massacre, Hyuga Affair, Invasion of Konoha by Sound and Sand, Orochimaru kidnapping dozens of people and 60 babies for his experiments, Danzo and Hanzo's joint mission that created the Akatsuki and the destruction of the Uzu village; whose emblem can be found around Konoha.

SMH

Hiruzen was too soft for the position.

They deserved more spotlight of course, maybe using flashbacks considering the sole survivors were Naruto, Karin and Nagato (who later died anyway).
