The Uzumaki and the Younger Son.

Extremely-Obvious-Idea-Time once again....

This has probably been done countless times, but I am just pooling my thoughts


The Younger Son had the Sage's powerful life-force.

Karin is described as having a powerful life-force (also she is the only one that we know of that can heal people through her body)

Kushina had a powerful life-force, and a special chakra.

Nagato......well everyone knows what he was capable of.

The Uzumaki clan was stated to have a long life due to their life-force.

The Senju did not possess a powerful life-force (But they constantly refer to the ideology of the "Will of Fire")

Is this an indication that the Sage was an Uzumaki? And that the Senju were possibly the descendants of the Uzumaki and not vice-versa?

The sage became the host of the juubi.Sometime later he gave birth to two sons.Both children attained a piece of his power.This power include the jubi too as the sage and juubi have become one and share the same host body.
The elder brother.The Uchiha ancestor inherited the Sage's "eyes" — his powerful chakra and spiritual energy.
Which is the Yin chakra.The uchiha take the traits and powerful chakra of the tailed beast.(Which is why there is a conenction bewteen the eyes and the beast)

The yonger son inherited the Sage's "body" — life force and physical energy.What do the Uzuamki have ?Renown skill in funinjustu.(Hint)And incredible longevity and life force.The younger son gained attributes of the sage while the elder gained power from the juubi.

The sage was said to be a priest.What do priest especially in the warren states of japan typically associated with ? Fuuninjustu.To pass down such life force and physical energy one must have incredible life force.Like you pointed out in your thread.The uzumaki passed its traits to the senju ancestor but retained the third which was longevity.

yes...but how were they related? What I am really contemplating is: which one came first?

Basically, the features of Senju and Uzumaki are very similar and both were present in the Younger Son of the Sage. The Younger Son may have had two sons of his own which became leaders of two tribes that were later called Uzumaki and Senju. They are now distant relatives since there was a time when both clans reached their zenith but then the Uzumaki Clan was destroyed. Its inhabitants scattered to different places throughout the shinobi world. However, little is known about what happened to the Senju Clan.

I agree great thread and yes Uzumaki and Senju are/were related but in what way? we dont know what way yet it is never explained...its just the arguement what came first the chicken or the egg (Uzumaki=chicken, Senju=egg)

I'm going to hypothesize that the Sage was an Uzumaki. For the following reasons:

1. His sealing was clearly amazing being able to seal a being like the 10 tails.
- The Uzumaki were extremely feared for there sealing techniques that they were targeted and destroyed in their village.

2. The sage had a powerful life force as evidence of him being the first Jinchuriki (And the 10 tails no less). He also had a lot of chakra as one could assume.
- The Uzumaki are known to live long, have a powerful life force (Kushina did not die from having Kurama extracted from her) and have a lot of chakra (Naruto is a clear example, alongside Kushina)

3. The only people in the series who were the Jinchuriki of Kurama were Uzumaki's (Who is the strongest and hardest to maintain of them all because of his natural hatred).
- Kushina, Mito and Naruto, with the latter becoming friends with him.

Extra: Kushina's ability to bind Kurama even after she gave birth and had Kurama extracted from her.
