The claims that the Syrian government murdered their own people and especially using a banned weapon - chemical weapons are banned in case you didn't know, it is a good enough buffer to not push WWIII.
Of course, it will need to be heavily investigated whether or not it is true. But the fact is that people still died.
I don't really get media and the public's reaction. This shit has been going on all the time in the Middle East and now that US had gotten itself involved especially to the ones who have ties with Russia, it's all "OMG sorry. This is so sad. condolensce. blah blah blah"
empathy and all that BS.
You don't really care. No one really cares unless they have friends and family and even then, it wouldn't be as bad.
I bet even worse is happening elsewhere like Africa, or South America too but are we all going around crying for them? nope.
That's why news wouldn't even cover it.
Trust me, WWIII won't happen.
Unless it is a direct attack on the US by Russia or vice versa, they won't do anything. At worse case scenario, it will just be another Cold War.
Would we care? no. We don't as long as we don't have to be deployed or whatever would affect us.
I agree.
