This one was inspired by my mother. 
I love her and she is the insperation of my life <3
A woman who shows up for battle with her amour scratched
Who steps forward above all else
And raises her head above the waves that try to engulf her
Earns the title of my hero.
She is the woman who gave birth to me
And-let me tell you- I’m proud I can call her my mother.
My hero, my mentor, my mother
So many things I am blessed to call her.
Her struggles have stretched over three years
7 different surgeries, 7 times to recover once again
Her body betting on the toll
But her soul soaring free, ignoring others.
My mother, refusing to give up, keeps fighting
The devil laughing at her, throwing more terrors in her face
To shatter and shake her world
Rough-housing her once again.
My mother is my hero, my rock,
I’m not afraid to tell anyone either
Should I have a reason to not to be proud of such a strong woman?
I mean- honestly.
I ask my mother why we always pray for others, but they never pray for us?
With tears in her gleaming blue-green eyes, she smiles- that warm motherly smile
She said: If we continue to pray, they will pray eventually.
I always believed to. I always prayed just as she said-without question.
Now, as my mother barges into her next battle, I pray she’ll be okay.
I know she’ll make it out even without my prayers.
My underdog is the hero of my life
She’s the winner of them all and certainly Undefeated
