This is my ultimate dojutsu theory, covering byakugan, sharingan, rinnegan, ancestral dojutsu, and Uzumaki. If you don’t want to read the entire theory, I will have a summary section. Please don’t hate unless you have read the entire theory, however much my ideas might seem stupid.

Part 1: 8 trigrams dojutsu sealing technique!
Look at these images...
Notice the similarity between them? That is because the ancestor eye is in fact a sealing technique in the process of happening. I will explain this in a moment.
The first sealing technique was created by the so6p to seal the juubi away. This technique must have been super OP, and a technique similar to it was probably taught to his son by the so6p himself. We all know that the uzumaki, masters of sealing, are related to senjus. Now, you might argue that that only happened when hashi married mito, but they must have gotten their tailed beast controlling powers and life force somewhere, and nagato is not hashi’s nephew. This sealing power was probably used on the uchiha ancestor by Ashura in an attempt to weaken him. This, however, actually momentarily strengthened Indra, who had originally only had sharingan.

The reason, Is because the byakugan is actually the sealed sharingan of the uchiha ancestor. Think of the ancestor eye as a whirlpool, sucking the powers of the sharingan below the surface. This hugely increases the power of the eye that the seal was used on. However, when the children of the ancestral dojutsu seal are born, they will have byakugan, because the powers of the sharingan have been sealed below the surface of the “water” (the eye) And cannot escape unless released. This power is also apparent in the izanami and izanagi, which seal the sharingan away into what looks an aweful lot like a byakugan. It even explains why there is so much water in uzumaki sealing techniques and why they are called uzumaki. (literally meaning whirlpool)

As the story goes, while the uchiha ancestor had sharingan, before the whole fight with ashura, he had a child with sharingan. Then, he went into battle with Indra, successfully sealing his eyes... but not canceling out their powers. After the battle, Indra had a second child, the hyuga ancestor. Believing it unfair that he had lesser powers than the first child, the hyuga ancestor tried to learn as much as he could about the 8 trigram sealing style that sealed his eyes in the first place. However, not having the vital lineage of the uzumaki clan, all he did was make a technique that would seal or unseal the byakugan in death. Because this was no help to him at all, he decided to start a branch family over whom he would have power just like his brother had power over him. His younger child, however, disliking this plan, attempted to fight his brother into letting him be a full member of the family. The older brother, however, created several techniques with his superior eight trigrams knowledge, all of which are related to sealing, like the 64 palms that seals chakra points and the juinjutsu that seals the byakugan away ON DEATH. This lead to the current development of the hyuga clan.

Part 4: Why The sharingan has tomoe
Now, most of us see the sharingan tomoe and take it for granted because, obviously, it has to deal with the strength of the eye. No kidding, right?
One word... WRONG!
The sharingan tomoe do in fact have a distinct origin.. and it is related to, obviously, the tailed beasts, right?
One word... MAYBE!
The sharingan’s tomoe is based on the sharinnegan’s tomoe, which are related in a way to tailed beasts. But the sharinnegan’s tomoe are actually just sections of the pupil, the REAL main source of power, as shown in the byakugan section, which were seperated on the ripples coming out from the eye that the tomoe conveniently happen to be on.
Also, the tomoe exist on the normal sharingan because it is simply another ripple, just 1 ripple instead of three.

Simple. In the process of rippling out, the power of the pupil that makes the sharinnegan the most powerful dojutsu is eventually completely carried out of the eye by the ripples, leaving a weakened core, a reflection of the original eye. This also explains why the infinite tsukoyomi made everyone it caught in it’s grasp look like they had rinnegan, because it is a reflection of the original eye. This explains the 6 path’s ability to create more rinnegan as well, because they are reflections of the original rinnegan. Why didn’t the people hit by infinite tsukuyomi have rinnegan powers? Because they don’t have the powers of the pupil, which are the important part. The ripples just show that the eye is a reflection of the original sharinnegan, not that it has any powers.

Part 6: Mangekyou sharingan
The mangekyou sharingan is known to be the more powerful version of the normal sharingan’s powers. That is because the mangekyou sharingan draws more and more out of the pupils of the eye, strengthening the jutsu half of the eye but weakening the pupil to the point of blindness as the tomoe transform, draining all of it’s powers.
The EMS is when the old worn out pupil of the reciever’s eye is given the new, powerful pupil of the giver’s eye. This means that the pupil is strengthened, allowing the user to once again see, and not just that. It allows the user to see permanently. This is the most charged of all the pupil’s because of it’s double power. Also, since the tomoe combine, the powers of the mangekyou increase beyond their original strength.
Finally, Because the tomoe are combined, the have enough strength to release new ripples, causing the original EMS to be “washed away” as the rinnegan springs fourth.
The EMS is when the old worn out pupil of the reciever’s eye is given the new, powerful pupil of the giver’s eye. This means that the pupil is strengthened, allowing the user to once again see, and not just that. It allows the user to see permanently. This is the most charged of all the pupil’s because of it’s double power. Also, since the tomoe combine, the powers of the mangekyou increase beyond their original strength.

Basically, all this junk says that:
1: Uzumaki are related to senju and learned the so6p’s original techniques from Ashura.
2: This sealing power was used on Indra, creating his sealed eyes, but the whirlpool also drastically increased Indra’s eye’s strength.
3: The pupil of the byakugan never fully emerges because it was sealed away in the same technique that sealed away the ancestor’s eyes.
4: If the pupil of the byakugan ever successfully emerges, a sharingan would appear.
5: The hyuga ancestor was angry with his eyes not being the sharingan and created a branch family because he wanted power and couldn’t fix his own problems.
6: Sharingan tomoe are just pieces of the pupil, which are spread out from the center of the eye.
7: The main source of all dojutsu power is the pupils.
8: The rinnegan are only reflections of the sharinnegan and other rinnegan, or the reflection of the normal sharingan in extreme cases. (Rinnegan awakening from EMS)
9: The mangekyou sharingan are simply the powers of the pupil expanding on their ripples.
10: When EMS are made it is moving the new powers of the pupil into the old, worn out pupil that creates a doubly strong dojutsu, powerful enough to release full-scale ripples. (Awakening the Rinnegan)
