If Shisui really wanted he could have put Sasuke's father ,the clan leader under KA and stopped the coupe or at the most delayed it so that the issues with the uchiha could be solved peacefully.Despite the fact that Danzo took his one eye (we have seen that KA can be casted using even a single eye of Shisui's) Shisui could have done so.
So,
on one side you have the option of stopping/delaying the coup without bloodshed and without losing your own life

and on the other you allow the slaughter of your own kin,clan and kill yourself.

And Shisui chose chose the second way.
Seems unrealistic doesn't it?

Seems like it was in the end, Kishi-sama using plot no jutsu to develop a story.

I think either way there would be a coup. Even if fugaku was KA'd someone else with the same ideals would rise up and do the same thing. It was inevitable

that only holds true if the leaf never wanted to them power that they deserved. All they wanted was to be treated fairly but i guess no one else sees why they were planning a coup, you just feel that they were planning a coup kill them smh...who are the real villains here

Ya you are right if the leaf treated uchiha better there wouldn't have been the potential of a coup but if the leaf continue to treat them that way and even if fugaku died, the coup would've happened anyway

No one wanted to kill fugaku,just KA him to hold back the coup.

I think the clan should be slaughtered. No hate against the uchiha but I also think it was inevitable. I believe shishui knew this and knew only itachi could do it. In the end I believe the coup was inevitable!
