Why does it seem that members of the Uchiha clan don't seem to trust one another at all?

Itachi was apprehended by other members of the Uchiha clan shortly after Shisui's death..

Sasuke didn't trust Obito, even though Obito saved his life, and helped him grow stronger.

Obito never considered Madara as an ally, much as Sasuke did to him..

Why can't they seem to trust one another? They are all from the same clan and their clan is getting weaker all the time..you'd think the best thing they could do would be to trust each other.

The Uchiha are actually known to be like this because of the fact that they can get stronger by killing each other off. Although some of the images you posted are a bit questionable.. like Sasuke's hesitation with Obito. You can't simply trust people like him... especially since Sasuke went training for 3 years with a man who had full intention of taking Sasuke's body.

Sasuke trusted Itachi.
Izuna trusted Madara.
Madara trusted his clan.
Shisui trusted Danzo.

Uchiha's are Superior to everyone in Naruto except maybe Senju.

In the first two examples you gave, their distrust is easily justified. In fact, any non-uchiha would mosy likely have done the same considering the circumstances. Itachi was acting suspicious, not really following the clan's orders, and this only became so once he entered the anbu. Considering they were planning a coup d'etat, it only makes sense.

Despite Tobi saving his life, he was an enemy before, of course Sasuke is not going to immediately trust him.


The last, well Obito just have his own goals. xd
