Madara failed because he could not protect the clan and his brother. In a sense, the loss of the Uchiha clan is symbolic of Madara's own failure, so "no Uchiha clan" is not something to be proud of. On the contrary, Madara threw a tantrum the instant the Uchiha clan did not believe him.

the Uchiha clan were better under Madara's leadership....they didn't realize that untill they got oppressed ...Madara never failed...the one who failed is sasuke
