So this is my first thread and I've thought this is how it was going to turn out for awhile. I always figured that Kishi was going to make Obito end up being Tobi... but I do think there is more than meets the eye to this outstanding character. However before I begin I want to say anyone who flames this... I really don't care I'm just throwing out an idea of what I think will happen and has happened and how it correlates. Also, I have no clue how to add manga scans and what not, like I said its my first post so go easy on me.
1) Timeline Issues
As we've heard and seen in countless threads, there is a huge plot hole in the timeline if tobi is obito with no strings attached. Well, I think there is strong evidence that there were two masked men. One obviously being the Tobi we have now who is trolling the entire narutoverse, and then a Tobi from the earlier chapters of the manga when the Mizukage was controlled, the rinnegan given to nagato, etc. However, I think that was infact Madara or some other character that is an uchiha to be revealed to us later. If I remember correctly we never see the Tobi from that era using space time justu... infact he really only used deception. The tobi who fought minato however would have to be the new age tobi due to his abilities of space time jutsu.
2) How obito can be the tobi that fought minato
Well when obito's body was crushed he was obviously left for dead and was in dire need of repair. Infact, I think that obito did die but as we've seen with pain, a dead body can be used for more than just compost. I think that zetsu has something to do with it. Think back to when zetsu imitated neji and many others in this war arc to confuse the shinobi alliance. Would it be too far fetched to say that zetsu either A) molded with the body of tobi making himself able to control it as well as have access to his memories, or B) zetsu was simply used in the process of healing him and either izuna has his body now (unlikely) or it really is the consciousness of obito. If the condition is A like i'm thinking it is then it can explain the rapid growth of obito, we know zetsu to be able to do many things with the body and morphing so i feel as this is a stretch but not entirely impossible.
3) How zetsu plays into being able to use the sharingan so well if he molded with tobi and is using his body.
Zetsu was created half of senju and half of madara dna, by madara in my opinion. (correct me if i'm wrong) Well, we know madara is the best sharingan user to ever live, so why couldn't zetsu if he molded with obito use his sharingan to extraordinary levels... he has the body of an uchiha plus he has the dna of madara and hashi. Plus, its feasible to say that madara had some amount of time to be able to teach this zetsu/tobito catastrophe of a being. Then he simply fought minato, and as we know tobi then was definitely part zetsu from his melting arm. This all can also explain how there is access to obito's memories and such.
4) How i think it will play out!
I think that a lot will happen, tobi is really no one. The soul that resided in him is gone and what replaced it is really not human an any sense at all. We see that many things are happening and obviously kishi can only tell us how it all happened but I think this can make sense. I think as opposed to izuna, madara had been working very closely with zetsu and I think that this monstrosity is really working for zetsu in the grand scheme of things... zetsu may be our final villian and what he can do will likely be on par with an arsenal of jutsu like oro... except only on steroids.
I know its kind of far fetched but i can see this being somewhat feasible, and if i'm wrong... I don't care either. I think Kishi has done a great job with the manga and he is a master story teller, if i'm right i would commend myself for being able to think on par with an amazing writer like himself. So quit hating on him and wait, its like hating on the sl*t you're gonna marry before you see what she looks like... you have to see the finished product before you can b*tch about it.

**edit** Also Tobi can't use hand signs, the only other character I can think of with a similar trait is zetsu. I can't recall ever seeing either use hand signs for chakra molding
