Tsukyomi can be broken by those who have the same eyes. Let's say you are an Uchiha would you go willingly to an eternal sleep? Or would you fight the Genjutso? Now multiply that by the whole Uchiha Clan....

What I'm trying to say is that it's sort of obvious why the Uchiha Clan had to go in order for the Moon Eye Plan to be achievable and permanent. Otherwise Madara/Obito would have to deal with I don't know how many Uchiha's who are bound to have sharingans and bound to be blood related to either one of them, be it more closely or further apart.

Taking out the Uchiha Clan was the logical way to ensure that any major threat to the MEP was eliminated. As we know Sasuke's survival was not intended by no one apart from Itachi, who misteriously became so ill he had to resort to heavy medicine in order to live up to the age of 25 or something. Coincidence? I don't think so.

If you pay attention Obito only marches forward with his plans after Itachi is dead and he had always hoped for one to kill the other. Fortunately for him, Itachi let his brother live, which proved in handy as Nagato had died.

But all summed up it's pretty obvious that the goal was always to eliminate any Uchiha that might attempt to frustrate the MEP.

That's one less needing explanation.

That could possibly be a goal because whether they die in this world or not they can be alive in the next. And that's if Madara wants them to be or not of course he will be in complete control.

The only way you can break Tsukiyomi is to be someone with blood bonds to the person casting it, and also must have 3T Sharingan.

Uchiha clan massacre was an Anbu Black Ops assignment. Obito was talking about them destroying the entire village not about the MEP. Why would Obito and Madara want to get rid of a clan was getting ready to stage a coup d'etat

hmmmmmmmmmmmm well thought but it was an anbu assignment to kill them the leaf didnt know about the moons eye >.>

We do not have intel on how far was Madara/Obito related to the events that lead to that mission. For all we know the cup d'etat might have been of their inspiration.

The only way you can break Tsukiyomi is to be someone with blood bonds to the person casting it, and also must have 3T Sharingan.

The only Tsukiyomi that had that particularity was Itachi's. Sasuke's was broken by Bee with no difficulty at all. We need to take into account that Itachi's speciality was indeed his Tsukiyomi, not every Uchiha would have been so strong in that field. Actually manga seems to show that some were better suited for Genjutso and others for more direct damage. i.e. Sasuke and Madara seem to be more directed towards big offense and defense that to mind tricks. Itachi and Shisui seemed to have been the other way around.

This could explain why Obito helped Itachi, yes, that makes sense. Good idea.

Wow I really like this.

This would explain why Obito attacked village. How Obito knew it was a mission givin to Itachi, because Itachi wasnt aware Tobi knew it was an order.

And the sickness thing is interesting...Obito made Itachi ill? Thats something that would be a great twist if it were true.

Then why would Itachi ask for Obito's help? Shouldn't he have asked Itachi?

Itachi didnt? Itachi found Obito sneaking around the Uchiha Tablet hideout and it was Tobi who said he wanted to take part. Itachi said yes as long as he didnt make any moves against the village.

I think Obito just thought hmm what would madara do in this situation. And came up with "well he did have a grudge with the uchiha and came to attack the leaf with the kyuubi, so I guess he would agree"

I seriously think this is why obito decided to help itachi

We know that it wasn't Madara who killed them but he could have entrusted Obito with that to be effected in due time. Secound they weren't killed by Itachi, they were killed by two MS sharingan users. Itachi was only one of them and seeing how Obito fights I'm inclined to think that it might have been mostly Obito's doing.

Further more if using MS would cause such an immense stress on one's body wouldn't that made Sasuke tuberculoses by now? I mean he literely used the damn thing up to blindness, the same could be said about Obito or even Danzo and Kakashi. Neither of them seems to have been sick in that way. And for most of them they used the MS for longer or just as long as Itachi did.

My ruling is that it nothing to do with the MS usage at source, though it's quite possible that the normal toll of using it might have aggravated his condition. But I believe he would have died any way.

Then why would Itachi ask for Obito's help? Shouldn't he have asked Itachi?

Itachi was manipulated to ask for Obito's help. Someone like Obito would have never been noticed by anyone else unless he desires it to happen. Clearly Obito tricked Itachi to sick him and ask for his help. All the rest was just smoke screens to keep Itachi under his control and the way I see it it worked pretty good up till recently.

Maybe even the Kyuubi attack itself was simply a preparation for these events.

Lol dude, I doubt that obito attacked the village for THAT reason, considering he was killing everyone including uchiha members I supose. I don't think obito knew about the misson until itachi said it himself...Im quite sure that itachi knew dude... he Is a master at tricking minds, we all though he was evil back then right? Exactly... And the sickness thing, I doubt that itachi would have let obito touch him like that.... Please face the facts that are here already, that obito helped itachi in killing the entire clan, with obito having other motives other than that MEP...

I doubt that some mere uchiha would have able to break from it, Im sure that some had MS sure, but im sure that a very few of them had EMS that can MAYBE break that... Lets face it, that 10 tails Tsukyomi will proboly be nearly imposible to break, even to high ranked uchiha like itachi.

No, this thread really makes so much sense. I dont know you so im not trying to earn brownie points. But a question has been tossed around this base, one that I have been following and trying to find the answer and I think that answer is here.

"Why did Obito lie to Sasuke about the Kyuubi attack? He was honest about his grudge and about his part in the massacre, why lie about being the catalyst?" These are some one else's words, not mine, I cant remember who to give them credit, but claim them if you see this post.

The point is that he couldnt let Sasuke know that he instigated the attack because that would reveal that the Uchiha could stop his plan. That is why it was so important, "to make Sasuke his" after he defeated Itachi. The reason Obito hasnt revealed his plan to Sasuke is because if he tells Sasuke before turning him to his side, then Sasuke will realize he is the only one that can stop Obito (if the dream world were to be created). This is why it is imperative to Obito than Sasuke joins him, and why he wont tell him his plan until he knows Sasuke will be on board with it(if he ever even decides to tell him).

I am 99% sure this thread is correct, at least the main point of it, that the Uchiha could stop the Moons Eye. So much stuff is starting to make sense after reading this.
Could this also be why Obito tells Kabuto, not until after the war can you have sasuke?

Another thing that has been bugging me is that Obito needed Sasuke to sync with the Gedo Mazo.

If memory strikes me right Rinne Tensei is an ability bound within the Rinnegan, meaning it has nothing to do with the Jubbi. For a while I thought otherwise, but ever since it has been confirmed that the Gedo is nothing else than the empty shell of the Jubbi I strated asking my self why would Obito need Sasuke to sync with the Mazo? Surely wasn't to bring Madara back to life, for that all he needed was someone with the Rinnegan willing to give an incredible amount of chakra for the task. Then why?

The answer then stroke me. During the battle with Minato, Obito never tried to use Genjutso. I thought that had to be just plot no jutso, but then I realised that the feat of having controled the 4th Mizukage was Madara's and not Obito's as the Ninja who attacked Kakashi and Rin were already claiming to be from the "Bloody Mist", which we know (via Kisame's flash backs) to have been Madara/Obito's doing. Obviously it wasn't Obito and that leaves us Madara.

From here we can take that Obito doesn't have a single feat of Genjutso, never mind strong ones like Tsukiyomi. He never showed to be able to use other techniques like Amaterasu or Susano'O. So what I'm thinking is that maybe Obito does not have a strong aptitude for these feats of the MS. His abilities seem to be of a totally different breed. In which case how would he launch the MEP even if became the Jubbi's Jinchuriki?

The answer is simple. That's why he needed to sync Sasuke with the Gedo Mazo. He wasn't talking about the Mazo but the Jubbi! He wanted Sasuke to pull out that feat. He never intended to bring Madara back to life, why would he? As long as Madara was out of the picture he would be the one calling the shots, and a brain washed Sasuke would be easy to control.

As for giving Sasuke to Kabuto I don't think he ever wanted to go through with his part of the deal. And as for Kabuto I think all he wanted was to bring havoc and possibly survive the MEP and then capture Sasuke. I think it's important to recall that DSM Kabuto has proven to be quite effective shielding him self against visual Genjutsus and the Eternal Tsukiyomi is basically a wider version of a strong visual Genjutsu, the eternal part is simply because of the boost that the Jubbi chakra gives, but it's basically a Tsukiyomi.

Completely agree with Obito not wanting to bring back Madara...In fact, I had just made a thread about it around the time you posted this.

Uchiha clan massacre was an Anbu Black Ops assignment. Obito was talking about them destroying the entire village not about the MEP. Why would Obito and Madara want to get rid of a clan was getting ready to stage a coup d'etat

Well Madara was personallly betrayed by his clan when they went with Hashirama as their Konoha Hokage! Obito wanted justice overall for Rin dying. We know that Anbu has had shadowy alliances in the past (Danzo and Orochimaru). Not only that, but their is always the threat of genjutsu manipulation. While this idea may be unlikely BECAUSE of the coup d'etat, it is always a possibility. I mean the truth about the deal seems to have already been made, but why does Sasuke need to talk to yet another person XD!!!

OT: Good theory. Though because of the facts as far as Itachi and Obito called on them I doubt it comes to pass, but it would be a great way to go as far as Sasuke getting his revenge as well as going back towards the right path!
