The Truth Behind Itachi

At first, Itachi was portrayed as the main villain. His death was Sasuke's objective for all of part 1 and most of part 2. He was also part of Akatsuki, an evil organization plotting to create chaos and kill the jinchuriki, including Naruto.
Some people are under the impression that Itachi never actually meant to capture Naruto, even though it was his objective. I believe that this is false.
