Ok, tsukyomi is the genjutsu cast by itachi uchia. Tsukyomi was also, infact, th moon goddes in japanese . In Naruto, Tobi says infinite tsukyomi. Now that could mean two things, either the genjutsu or the fact that the moon will stay forever in the sky, blocking sunlight and effectively placing the world"in the dark" with the chakra of the juubi.

IIn Egyptian Mythology, the Goddes Nut, gambled with the Moon God, and gained 5 extra days, emphasised with the fact that itachi could control time in his tsukyomi.

I think when the mugen tsukoyumi is casted. It will be like a daydream, a combination of illusion and reality.

Living continuously on the correct time but seeing different events.
