The truth about Naruto..

I recently read a similar thread, so I felt this would be the most appropriate time to say a few things on my mind. That is, Naruto Uzuamki as a main character. Now before I get started I would like to say that I'm not saying this just because I'm a Sasuke fan. I encourage all his fans to leave feedback as well as people who agree with me.

Now imo Naruto as a main character sucks imo. His whole storyline/overall reason for existence/design is to cliche and not fitting for someone like him. We start the series with an ADHD child who can't sit still and is a typical failure at life. Now I'm all for the underdog routine and I guess he was suppose to be a symbol of "hardwork" (rofl) however he just does not fit the bill. He has almost no particular skills of his own.

He uses the same two ****ing techniques every fight. He is suppose to be the main but side characters have a better variety of skillset? Are you serious why is it that I know how every Naruto fight is going to end. Aside from the emotional value of his fights like I'm a twelve year old girl.... what is suppose to make me go woah didn't see that coming or damnnn nice moves Naruto. Naruto uses the same two moves at the beginning and it's ends it with the same two techniques regardless that it didn't work the 1st time. Seriously wtf wtf wtf.

The only time I ever enjoyed Naruto's fight was because of Sage Mode. Now just when I think NAruto will begin to fight like a main character he neglects his own power and went to master the power he swore he wouldn't use. Not using Kurama was a main plot device and now it's ok to turn back and use it anyway?

Now before you tards go on to post about his numerous training arcs how much as Naruto really trained for his new powers? He learned sage mode/rasenshuriken in a couple of days and master the Kyuubi in 1?? So at most Naruto trained for 10 days for the majority of his power.

And the whole Naruto/Sasuke friendship thing sucks ass. It's lame as hell and we all know it's forced.This doesn't help his case because all Naruto does in this manga is chase after this weak friendship. They are suppose to be best friends but Sasuke only acknowledged him twice. Once at vote and the other when they were 8.


Naruto is a garbadge ass main character and now that I wrote it down I realize it even more.

Naruto/Obito relation is garbadge dribble bs. Naruto basically talks Obito down while still being the Naive brat he always has been.

Naruto/Sasuke friendship forced and lame

Naruto/Sage/Younger relation. Inconsistent/lame/contradicts design

naruto is my favorite character because he's not a typical cliche main character
most main characters are liked by everybody and seem to have some hot ***** liking them and at the beginning of every manga they beat everybody until around the middle or so they finally start fighting stronger opponents,naruto would be dead if it wasn't for kurama and if kurama did take over his body he would be dead

he does use the same techniques but he uses a different variety of them like most character in this manga
and kakshi said naruto has a strange power about him that makes people want to believe in him, that's why kurama gave naruto his chakra for bijuu mode, he is using his power
and naruto represents the younger son, it never has contradicted itself in the manga, people has just made theories saying he's the rikudo's reincarnation

The naruto/ obito interactions going on currently are really the pinnacle of narutos development. They demonstrate that he has really grown and matured over the course of the series and has learnt from his past experiences. He doesn't seem cliche at all since his character is built in his past experiences. I can't think of another character that has had a similar experience to naruto, so I don't see how he is cliche.

Also Naruto was never meant to be the genius type character, as you said he is the underdog. Having huge variation in Jutsu would be wouldn't fit with this kind of character and if anything would be forced. What he does have is a select number of Jutsu that he uses in unique ways and to there full potential. The majority of them are very high ranking anyway which demonstrates he does have talent, just not focus (but this has developed in part 2).

You made it very clear that this is your opinion which is valid and your more then entitled to it, but I respectfully disagree. Naruto is a character with unrivalled depth in this manga and to be honest your selling him short.

it was made clear in part one itself that naruto's aim is not to learn tons of jutsu, because thats not what is required

at most Naruto trained for 10 days for the majority of his power.

the kage bunshin method of training merely reduces the time factor, he still has to put as much effort into it as he would if he did it without this method

its like he is doing 10 hours of work in half an hour by dividing the work with clones, he isnt taking any shortcut, it even more tedious because he has to train without taking breaks since he is short on time

He's only strong because of his bloodline. The cursed seal was handed to him. His mangekyou and EMS were handed to him. And it's even stated that Orochimaru alongside training him boosted his body with a mariad of drugs. Sasuke got everything he needed handed to him. Atleast Naruto had to risk his life for his main power ups.

I agree with this perspective. However I do agree with this thread about the the KM training. It should have been much more elaborated then it was.
I mean you have the demon fox who by all rights has been trying to escape naruto all this time, who hates humans (except the sage himself), who's will makes people go insane, who's chakara has been stolen from him way too many times to just let naruto have his and who DOES NOT attempt to kill naruto or make ANY demands from him what so ever AFTER STEALING HIS CHAKARA!!!!
I mean B teaches him how to overcome his own darkness so the fox can not use that against him, and teaches him the tug of war tech to steal the foxes chakara. But the time it took for teaching how to do the tug of war and the control the chakara was way too short to be believable. I mean If the cloak is really that powerful that you can shatter your own bones then it would take a long time to make it safe for the user to use; even if the fox allowed you to use his chakara with out making any attempts on your life.
Then the idea of using the foxes power in the war idea is poor logic. period. 1. because naruto as a character is all about hard work outshines raw talent. But if just gains this just because then it breaks that logic... plus the fox can just kill him any time via the shadow clone. So even in in the manga it does not make any sense to use his power.

You named only 4 techs which isn't much compared to other ninja. I would have replaced summoning over transformation and even so it's a still a pathetic number. This isn't a Sasuke vs Naruto thread even thought that's how these threads usuaslly turn out. Sasukes character yet is still better than Naruto's and more exciting to watch. Just because he's good doesn't make him better.

All of which is untrue. Sasuke was noted to be a genius on numerous occasions and has overall trained more than Naruto. Sasuke has trained for a total of 3 years which is longer than Naruto has trained during the time skip and arcs combined. Sasuke has even got his main power stripped and replace for new ones which was a step back. Sakura only believed he took drugs because his speed was so surreal. Again Sasuke was noted to be the genius so him gaining powers on the fly is justified. They both got lead down the path for stronger powers by the help of others.
