One important fact Sir Derp and I believe you're aware of it, but the spiral symbol of the Uzumaki clan actually stands for the ramen topping from which was named after Narutomaki.

I see. Makes sense! So basically my own little add-on is that the Senju and Uchiha are birthed from an Uzumaki with the Juubi, and it was because of the Juubi that he birthed both of them as Yin and Yang counterparts, respectively. The Uzumakis themselves are different, as in not being able to unlock Rinnegan through their eyes, but rather through chakra of the Bijuus (a.k.a. what's happening with Naruto). Which, this whole 'Sage being an Uzumaki' theorization makes sense seeing as although Nagato didn't even unlock the Rinnegan, he was able to completely harness and master its abilities.

Also why the Kyuubi, being the most hateful and influencing Bijuu (with the strongest chakra) was sealed into Uzumakis and they never succumbed to it. Not only because of their Fuuinjutsu, but also because of their natural tolerance most likely inherited from the Sage himself.
So basically now what I'm wondering is if the Sage was born with the Rinnegan, or only received it after becoming the Juubi's host. Also, this probably isn't important, but Ripple Patterns and Whirlpools both have to do with water, and they look quite similar imo. So maybe there's a connection there.

And seeing as how the Hyuuga were supposedly (forefathers of the uchiha but probably retconned to) distant relatives to the uchiha as Uzumaki are to the senju, it would make sense.
