See, the Naruto manga ended on Chapter 700, right? So, they want to make the anime end on episode 700 as well

One theory is maybe there is some stuff Kishi wanted addressed in the fillers? Even though it isn't cannon, maybe Kishimoto can still make some fillers that are, kind of like how The Last is technically cannon. Basically to answer some questions and stuff he never got around to in the manga
