In a recent chapter it was stated he still wanted Sasuke's body. If he goes through with that plan he could turn the whole war on its head and really make things a major mess. He said he was not interested in the war, he still isn't. He's just waiting for it to end so he can make his move. That's what I got from it.

I think he said it was the perfect opportunity to steal his body, not that he wants to. Orochimaru is still interested in watching Sasuke. But it does tell the audience to still be wary of Orochimaru.
