There is something that's been nagging me about Kekkei Genkai's. They are bloodline limits, or in other words, inherited skills that can be either passed down from clan member to clan member, or can appear once in a clan (Kimimaro, for example) and that they are "unique" to that clan. I have some things to say about that:
Mei says the because she can use Fire, Water and Earth, she has two KGs. That's a bit counter-intuitive to the definition of a bloodline limit. And we see that other people from other villages/countries have the same KGs as other shinobi's.
Dodai also has the Lava Release, but uses a different version.
And so does Kurotsuchi and again, it's a variant on the Lava Release.
Even Roshi has the Lava Release.
Which brings me to my next point.
As far as we know, there is no connection between these people. The same occurs with the Explosion Release (Deidara and Gari), Magnet Release (3rd and 4th Kazekage and Toroi) and Dust Release. Does this mean that Kekkei Genkai's are genetic or do they just require the necessary elements as Mei stated.
Perhaps KGs are unlocked or awakened depending on the elements you can use. And there is obviously a difference between a Chakra Element Kekkei Genkai (Lava Release, etc.) and Dojutsu Kekkei Genkai which are restricted to clans. Any thoughts?
