The true meaning of 'Fodder'

I've been seeing the word fodder thrown around waaay to often lately, half of you obviously don't know what it means.
I'll clear it up for you, AND I'll use a funny picture!

The man Madara is kicking the shit out of IS fodder.

Fodder is someone who contributes nothing to the story as a whole, like that random guy Jiraiya used Rasengan on in part 1.

Well, it can be interpreted differently. If one persons power is so overwhelmingly more different than someone else, then the word fodder can be used for a comparison of the two. Example; EMS Madara v Tenten. Madara would make her look like nothing and is FODDER by comparison.

Fodder is short for "cannon fodder", or "one whose sole contribution is to be expendable".

So those quaternary characters with no name and generic faces are fodder, while the primary-to-tertiary characters who aren't geared in the story to be wasted are NOT fodder.

FodderIZED is a made-up term that in itself is wrong.

Only thing he did was fight Orochimaru and even then his fight solved really nothing and contributed very little. Made Orochimaru not use his arms? No big that didn't stop him from doing anything..
