The true leader, Pain or Itachi?

1. Itachi wasn't gonna become leader. He can't. Its an Amegakure run organization. He would kinda be looked as an outsider and he's a spy. So yeah meh

3 . pain is most suited since he did create the organization and was the initial vice.

I agree with this.

Given the backstory of akatsuki no one else besides nagato is suited be the leader.

I dont believe pain can beat itachi because pains biggest weakness is genjutsu and hey thats itachis strongest skill set!

pain would beat itachi more times then not but nagato still respected his strength regardless
