Better yet....after learning of how the Zetsu's movr through the ground: Why didn't freakn Obito/Tobi just warp Hidan out of that hole into his dimension and then reassemble him? Maybe he was too annoyed by him? That doesn't make a lot of sense when you think about it. Obito needed as many Akatsuki members as possible to complete his plan. Basically Hidan wasn't dead and at least white Zetsu would have known his immediate location. Most likely "plot" is to blame! Lol
Altho I've thought for a long time that Hidan's Lord Jashin was the Juubi. That would at least tie his powers into the plot as well. Might even be a way that Obito could stay alive if he used that power to take another's life forceIdk I'm just randomly thinking out loud

In the anime there was actually a filler for when Hidan was revived as an Edo and was then sealed.

So how is he going to become the real villain if in the anime he has already been sealed?

Kishimoto might've approved in the making of that episode, so we can safely say he doesn't care for Hidan anymore. We rule him out.
