This list an official list gathered by networking and questionnaires during the recent Worldwide Olympics. The list was gathered by Oricon which is a website known for creating top-10 lists of everything and are usually pretty reliable. The reason they did this at the Olympics was so they could get a good range of opinions from different nations/cultures.

My thoughts..

No idea why Pokemon is on there. The only canon for Pokemon was the original games made in Japan. The manga and anime versions are completely different. Kind of sad to see a manga/anime on this list where a different form of media of itself (games) preceded what's being presented here.

Surprised One Piece is below Dragon Ball, especially considering they recently surpassed it in overall sales by double.

Im not surprised because everyone loved dragonball as a kid in america i know i did and then i found out about Naruto several years later and found out that dragon ball sucks by comparison. I agree though that i dont understand why pokemon is on there, i thought the anime was really slow and boring

Although im not saying i hate pokemon those games were the shit

the only problem is mobile suit gundam is so low,
i can understand pokemon because the series is one of the biggest franchise in japan if not the best
