My first thought on this timing that she appeared. Im like why the hell you didn't wait until Madara to beat Naruto and Sasuke (not saying it would happen).. That way Madara would be tired out and the last two threats would be finish. So that's just too genius im afraid.
As a counter argument she thought that Naruto and Sasuke was going to win and probably destroy the body. Then the only body she can posses to beat Naruto and do the plan is Sasuke. That way Sasuke is possessed and he have to vs Naruto. Then Sasuke would be the last villain (but possessed). Or Maybe she can't touch (possess) reincarnated of the Sage's sons.
Idk the timing of her doing that is probably perfect but i feel its a little odd that it happens now of all times. I don't think its an asspull or that the time is related to the plot.
