The Timeline Seems Messed Up

They seem awfully old this episode to just be starting the academy. They look a good bit older than chapter 700 when they were already in the academy. I just do not know timeline wise when this is supposed to take place and how old they are supposed to be.

Yes and they look closer to how old they were in the movie than how old they were in chapter 700 even though they should be even younger than chapter 700 here.

I wouldn't say that they are 'younger' than how they were in Chapter 700. They probably just started the academy in Chapter 700, so they shouldn't be that too far apart.

But the animation wise, Hinata/Himawari are the worst in terms of story line. They look exactly how they look in the Movie with no differences at all. Though you can tell Boruto, Shikidai, Sarada, Cho-Cho, etc. are younger.

Also this puts into question the whole academy system. In the anime I thought they started like at the age of like first grade or like 6 or 7 years old and then were in class for like 4-6 years. Here they look at least 10 and would mean they are in the academy what, like 1-2 years. That is not much and then questions what do they do before the academy. Is there like a grade school before then or something?

You guys say the academy like there's a set amount of time to be there, they could have all graduated from the academy quickly. Also the timeline for the academy has always been a bit off, Naruto was the same age as Sasuke and Sakura but had already failed the academy exam previously so either you can enter at different ages or Naruto should have been older than the rest of the K12.
