Here is the only scan in the manga of Itachi apparently getting owned. The few other occasions don't really count since he was either sick or protecting Sasuke.

Itachi getting cut in half is perhaps the only blemish in his record.

Now we all should be somewhat familiar with how Izanami works, so saying you're going to activate Izanami like that is completely nonsensical...

...unless of course your plan was to further irritate an opponent and use their feelings against them. (Which precisely what happened.)

I must hand it to Itachi -- he is such a good liar that he even fooled Kabuto fanboys and Itachi-haters alike. He even almost fooled a neutral reader such as myself.

u do realize when itachi was cut in half the sequence of evnts that izanami repeats hadnt been set up buy itachi yet so that slash that cut itachi stands as valid

actually no,kabuto was trapped in izanami the moment itachi lost sight in his eye,exactly after the second stab of kabuto with the sword,anything happened between the two stabs happened in reality,not in genjutsu.and that cut you have shown happened before the second stab,so it was real.and itachi would never have activated it without help.
just stating facts.
