So yeah, why was it closed? Is it because of that whole "No threads about members thing?" If so, it's just the same thing as the thread I made where I battled Namikaze, and that was fine, so why not this? Also, I was the one that was called out, and I have no problem with it, so why are mods getting involved in the first place? If the rule is to make sure no one gets upset, but no one is upset anyway, why not just back off of us?
Can you at least reopen the thread temporarily so Narut and I can get back our stuff and continue in one of our groups? Or at least just move it to Chatterbox?
Why? Let's clarify something first, your Namikaze the Rapper vs Rikerslade thread was not actually "fine". Unfortunately, the repeated incidents of rule violations, just within that single thread, have just come to our attention as no one had the courtesy to report any of it, even though there were several troublesome posts to be found. Now, the foremost reason as to why several posts can easily be considered in violation of the rules is the prevalence of censor bypassing.
Censor Bypassing: is when a member deliberately tries to fool the vBulletin Word Censor. The Word Censor is in place to censor obscene words that may not be acceptable to certain visitors. Remember, Narutobase Forums is a family site, so, the Word Censor is in place to protect children and others that may be offended by obscene words. Effective immediately, no special characters are allowed to be used in order to obscure any word.
In regards to the above bit, the Namikaze the Rapper vs Rikerslade thread had almost
twenty different moments where the word censor was intentionally bypassed. Of course, matters were only exacerbated when homosexual slurs were ingrained into the various rapping segments. Yeah, let's not forget that it's important to be respectful of
every member of this site, and that it is entirely easy to see that the use of certain words, in a derogatory fashion, can greatly offend them. Before any of you attempt to refute that, I'd have to emphasize that when we do get reports, the reasons are made perfectly clear and members are not afraid to state that they were personally offended. Honestly, the threads being made about other members was merely a secondary violation, however, I shall explain why that rule extends to even these threads. Right now, the whole lot of you feel it is acceptable to essentially trash another member via rapping. Regardless of whether or not the opposing party care, issues have arisen in the past... within your group for example, where members
outside of the small rapping community have been vehemently insulted via rapping. If you people play it off as harmless now, there'd be no way to refute future threads that take an inclination towards old incidents. Yes, several members outside of the group were greatly insulted when a certain "rap" was made in regards to them and having seen it, myself, I can say that you should be thankful that you were allowed to keep the group. Still, it should be noted that this is merely a secondary issue in relation to the concept of rule violations but nonetheless, is of notable concern. This applies to others too.
It should also be noted that at least one of you have been repeatedly warned for censor bypassing and subsequently infracted a few times for failing to comply with the forum rules and simple warnings, when it comes to the evident issue.
Now, the second issue is that both Rei and Zise have had to tell a certain group that their raps should be done only within their own group, not through threads open to everyone's sight. Even then, censor bypassing is unacceptable. Seriously, keep these matters within your own group... which all the involved members happen to be a part of. There is no acceptable reason as to why any of you felt the need to repeatedly bypass the word censor, especially after ignoring the warnings of two different administrators. Refer to Ira's post for the explicit explanations they have made in the past.
There is no reason as to why your threads wouldn't have been deleted, they did not comply with either the forum rules or the explicit warnings of the administrators, themselves. You may play it off however you'd like, but there were certainly easily perceivable issues within each thread. You should be respectful enough to comply with rather simple rules, especially if every other member of the site must also comply with them. Simply put, there are no exceptions.
