The 'theme' of these shorty chapters stinks

Well. This last chapter showcases what might be the most obvious and dumb thematic development ever.

Of course, the predictable development that we are about to see is that genes aren't the only way for people to inherit the 'things that matter' and that viewing us as programmatic machines built of meat and bone is a 'wrongheaded' way to look at things. This is perhaps the most cliche point you could possibly make at this juncture. Then again, did anybody expect a good 'plot' out of this shorty?

That being said, I wouldn't jump the gun on the mother. Knowing Kishi, he could throw us a one-two punch and sucker you once you feel most comfortable. But that does not excuse poor theme and so forth. A thorough lack of subtlety as well. I really don't care who the mother is. It's inconsequential. But the villain is lame, the entire build up is dumb... If Kishi wanted to really pull a big win, he'd make the distinction between gene and upbringing a bit more convoluted. But that would ruin the ability to string together easily won character development quickly.

Whatever. Just my two cents.

If I respond by saying 'why should anybody care about my post' then I'd look like an ass because I posted in a 'forum'. So I suppose I can't really expect anything else. Some people probably agree with me, others not. That's not to say I don't entirely dislike these chapters, I mean, I'm reading them.

The idiot was sounding like Solidus Snake from Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

You should save your two cents
And for saying a douche line like that you should have none.

OT: I agree the plot is being rather predictable as well as disappointing. Sarada will enter the ordeal thinking her genes and biology matter most but in the end she will cherish her emotions towards her parents more blah blah blah. We've seen stories like that a hundred times and now its wrapped up with another overused sharingan using villain.

As for the mother, everyone is going to jump the gun as we can already see here on NB. Kishi always likes to end his chapters with obvious questions and instead of waiting people just run with it.
