The Tale of Wesobi
Chapter 4 ±± The Path of Ages – Prologue±±
This chapter is the 4th on the Tale of Wesobi Saga and this particular release is the 2nd part of The Path of Ages Arc. Enjoy!
In the borders of the Fire country, north of Konoha, a beautiful, graceful, tall woman walked in a slow pace. She wore a loose black silk Kimono, tied with a broad red sash tied in her waist, with a large bow behind, just above her tights. Despite being loose and flowing with each movement she made, it let, in a very subtle manner, show her incredible figure. An hour glass shape of pure lust, curved and luxious chest with long, sculpted legs, which showed from within the Kimono as she took each step forward. A large cleavage, almost to her waist, both front and back, let a glimpse of her skin and invited lust in any who looked upon her. Her hair, incredibly white in contrast with her attire, fell in locks to her shoulders, falling above her breasts. Her eyes were of the deepest and inhuman orange ever seen, almost iridescent in their glow. Her face had a very gentle line to it and it featured a pair of full lips and a gaze capable of showing both lust and kindness. She moved slowly, swinging her hips from side to side and moving her hands in the most fluid and sensual way possible. In her hand, a simple white Katana, beautiful and deadly, with a black handle and a simple scabbard. An inhuman sight in the middle of a forest, miles away from any village. As she walked, an aura of both lust and danger but also kindness and innocence filled the area, as if she was a predator on the prowl. But she had always been like this, independent. In the distance, however, she could feel a menacing presence. Two ninjas were approaching, both seemed powerful.
“Hum…”
She continued, however, on her own path, bound to Kirigakure, the first step in the path of ages. If they were bound for her, they would not stand tall for long.
Not long they were in her visual range, walking the same path as she, in the middle of the small forest. Two man, very different from each other. One very big and heavy looking, muscular and opulent. His messed up dark golden hair hid his square features. But there was a menacing, gloomy aura emanating from him. Most likely an Uchiha. The other one slim, smaller, handsome even. His hair spiked in shades of dark blue. Looking more like a kid than a ninja, it was clear he was cold hearted. Both handled themselves differently. One was almost brutish and somewhat clumsy even, while the other was light on his feat, graceful and precise. Equal was, however, their attire: black cloaks, adorned with red clouds. Akatsuki. As she continued to walk, faking indifference, she noticed both of them stopped on her path, 10 meters away.
“We are here for you… Yurei-san…”
“Shame the vessel is such as beauti…” but before the slender man could complete his sentence, the luxious woman was already on their backs, having past them in a burst of speed that none noticed or were able to react to. Suddenly, the taller man grabbed his gut and trembled a bit. Blood was gushing through a wound, right across his waist as his eyes lighted up in crimson, showing 3 tomoes surrounding his pupil. The other man suddenly puffed in smoke, leaving a small log behind.
“Woowwww wooowwwwww… That was insanely fast Yurei-san! You were trying to kill us for real! In the last 10 years, no one has ever been able to be as fast as to actually force me to use the substitution technique! Well done!”
“…”
“I suppose she won’t talk to us Xylon so no point in the big speeches… I can only assume they are as annoying for her as they are for me.”
“Raggie…always so moody… But I suppose you have a point…”
“…”
The woman grabbed her beautiful weapon and suddenly, it was as if a God had just descended in front of them. Her robes flowed slowly, as if caught in a time slowing field. Her eyes were closed as she took the sword with her right hand and pointed the blade outwards, towards her opponents, in a reverse grip, before pointing it backwards. Her unorthodox fighting stance was intriguing as was her incredible beauty. As she opened her eyes, an incredible chakra pressure collapsed upon Xylon and Ragnaroc. They couldn’t help but fear for their lives. In front of them was a power they hadn’t ever faced before. And when she spoke, they shivered as if her voice caressed their skins directly in lustful strokes.
“Ragnaroc-san and Xylon-san… lackies of the Dammed Uchiha Kunoichi, Rei. I suppose you’d have to come attempt your fate at my sword eventually. I was just hoping it wasn’t so soon… I see that Roku and Caliburn weren’t too happy at your defection, were they Ragnaroc? I can see the burning scar on your back.”
“That is none of your business, vessel! I had no choice! It was a calling of the blood! I’m Uchiha! I cannot deny my people!”
“I see… delusionary visions of utopia were fed into your brain… Uchihas… Born with eyes capable of giving them the highest level of insight over the world around them yet they seem more oblivious to the reality of it than anyone else… And you Xylon? I supposed you would have escaped fast and steady as usual, avoiding to get grabbed into her maddening schemes… So, why serve Rei and her demented quest? You have nothing to gain and everything to lose. And betraying the Sages will not be something easily forgotten. And something that I’m sure didn’t come easy for someone as you”
“Lets just say I like the thrill of it…” said Xylon. His voiced was tensed and the tone lower than before, as if chewing his own words.
“Well, I guess one’s own quest for power can really drive you to the limit… Now, lets get this on, shall we?” said the woman as she lundged forwards. The speed was such that she appeared to have teleported directly in front of Xylon. Pulling her right arm upward, in a weird motion and a flick of the wrist, she delivered a powerful upwards slash right on his chest and face. Or so she thought. An afterimage was the only thing she hit. But her movement continued, dropping her right hand and arching her back, backflipping away from her place just as a massive fist passed right where her head was. As she backflipped, behind her was Xylon, trying to reach her back with his left palm. “Got her…” he though as his eyes gave him the impression of having touched the woman. But he didn’t. The woman in front of his eyes dispersed into a blast of air, pushing him backwards a bit. “She substituted herself with air?? How is that even possible…???”. Suddenly, Ragnaroc turned to him and unleashed a powerful blast of wind. The size was such that it could easily take out a boss summon. Xylon moved as fast as possible, positioning himself behind Ragnaroc in a flash of speed. As he did, he noticed the reason behind Ragnaroc’s attack: the woman was stealthily behind him, preparing to take off his head. He couldn’t feel it or notice it, meaning he owed Ragnaroc his life. As annoying as that was.
“If you keep messing about, you’ll be killed. She is much faster than you and since she isn’t using chakra, you cannot sense her in any way. My eyes can barely keep up” said Ragnaroc as his pupils shined crimson red in the wake of the massive wind technique, though instead of 3 Tomoes surrounding his pupil, a unique pattern surrounded it. Xylon was about to reply when a voice was heard from behind them.
“You cannot defeat me using those tactics and attacks. Please don’t make me kill you both” said the woman. It was amazing how both of them seemed tired and were making an effort just to keep up while she was as gracefully poised and contained, as she was when they met her. Not a strand of hair out of place.
“Well…then its only a reason not to mess about I suppose…” and Xylon waved his hand. In the direction of the movement, a massive burst of what seemed like a heat wave was propelled. All the small plants in its path withered away and the ground seemed to heat up to almost melting temperatures. However, instead of fleeing the massive technique, the woman raised her Katana and positioned it across her chest, blade forward, in a guarding position, albeit weird, due to her reverse grip style. The powerful blast collided with what seemed to be a barrier shield of invisible chakra which absorbed it completely. The collision was such that it generated a small shockwave upon impact. Despite the fearsome powerful attack she took, the woman was otherwise unaffected and seemingly hadn’t even made an effort.
“Radiation isn’t something you should use that freely Xylon… It’s one of the natures of chakra that is considered Tabu. The fact that you actually learned to use it is a sin to nature… If you use it again, I won’t hold back.” said the woman. Her voice was, however, unlike before, filled with anger and resentment. It was so palpable that both her enemies flinched. But didn’t back down.
“Learned? I invented Radiation… Its my own special element, Yurei-san”
“That shows only how little you know. It’s beyond a human’s ability to create new chakra natures. All of them exist within the chakra. Some human’s simply have an inate ability to awaken them, others don’t. All the shades of chakra exist within it… You can call it…” but before she could end her sentence, Xylon did a sequence of handseals and pointed his palms forwards. From them, a large blast of radiation rampaged forwards, this time, visible, in a golden aura, almost a golden light. The technique collided, once more, with the unknown barrier, again to no effect. But before Xylon could react, he screamed loudly and fell back, screaming and squirming.
“Xylon what the…” but as Ragnaroc turned, he saw the reason. The woman, in a burst of her ungodly speed, cut both of Xylon’s hands before he could even react. He sobbed and screamed, bleeding severely by the wrists. Ragnaroc blasted towards him and looked back. The woman was holding Xylon’s hands in her left hand. Strangely, her white katana, didn’t have the smallest hint of blood. And again, not even one strand of hair out of place.
“I cannot forgive anyone who shows such disrespect for nature…”
“You…!!!!” grunted Xylon as he struggled to stand on his feet. He was pale and sweating heavily as Ragnaroc helped him up.
“We should go Xylon… We are no match for her…”
“Ye…ss….” But before they could act, a barrier rose around them, crimson and translucent, forming a cube. Both were surprised but couldn’t actually bring themselves to think much about it before they lost conscious as their chakras were drained away almost entirely. As Ragnaroc was drifting out of consciousness, he could see a familiar face approaching the woman… In his lips, a name started to form as he faded out “C…”
A few days afterwards...
Scorps, Scary Yamato and Jinbei were in the outskirts of Kirigakure, in a small island, just outside the range of the Maternal Mist that surrounded the village and engulfed its territory in shadows. They were all siting on a large rock, facing the hidden village in the horizon, crossed legged, each with their hands in a different handseal. Scary was in the Snake Handseal, Scorps in the Horse and Jinbei in the Tiger. Mid day had passed 4 hours earlier when they arrived at the island and started the preparations to set their plan in motion. Since then they had prepared the formulas and kanji inscriptions that would allow them to perform the techniques they needed, storing them amongst their weapons, paper tags, etc. And for the last 2 hours, the only thing they did was focus on building, amassing and focusing their chakras while screening the village with their sensing. Doing this while remaining hidden from enemy sensing was a feat that required enormous focus, chakra control and most of all effort. Jinbei was the first to speak
“The village seems calm, nothing out of the ordinary for the last 3 hours. I can sense multiple chakras, most of them Jounin and Chunnin ranked ninjas, some S-Class Ninjas in the central areas and a few on the boarders of the village but there is a large Sage Rank chakra on the central building. I assume that its Alucard”
“I can sense a large empty void beneath the village, as if there was something preventing me from sensing in that area. That or it’s a cave. But it feels different. Scorps, what do you sense?”
“I sense the same as you. Beyond the village, just like Lili said, there is a fortress, protected by an immensely powerful and strong barrier. I cannot sense inside it but my Byakugan can see past it. I can recognize Wesobi’s chakra inside, surrounded by and immensely powerful elemental chakra, but also some familiar, troublesome ones. My step father is there…”
“Pervy Sage? But he… The Dark King never took sides… He’s a mercenary that strives for money and fame… What is he doing associated with all of this?”
“I don’t know”
“Scorps-san, will he be alright? Aren’t you putting too much faith in him to save your brother? With the Dark King there…”
“He will save my brother. I’m sure of it”
“Scorps, even if you trust him… Is he really that good? I mean, it’s The Dark King he’s up against…”
“Reborn will accomplish his task, I’m sure of it. He’s a great ninja. I personally trained him in Genjutsu and so did Lili afterwards. He is a new generation genius. No one like him have I ever trained. Additionally he is a high level wind user and a dangerous taijutsu and weapons master and knows Kirigakure like the palm of his hand. He won’t fail.”
“My Chakra is ready. Jinbei, how is yours?”
“I’m almost done myself, sensei. And I think Scorps-san has already finished his preparations”
“Yes, a few seconds ago. And from the looks of it, Reborn as well. He is already at the village gates. Its time to take action.”
“Scorps, we’ll support you. Just make sure you disperse that mist, otherwise, our plan ends before it starts.”
“Right! Lets start!”
As Scorps spoke he took the Water Goddess from his back and layed it across his lap, doing 2 handseals right after. As he did, a large amount of chakra was molded inside him. Opening his palms forwards and extending his arms, he attempted to gain control over the immense maternal mist, the abnormal weather pattern that gave Kirigakure its name. Not an easy feat considering the amount of chakra embedded into it and mainly its nature. Like they have considered before, it wouldn’t be easy to dispel. The maternal mist itself was a sensing device but also had embodied in it the spiritual energies of past Kirigakure ninjas, most of which died in horrendous ways at the hands of the village’s dark past. The mist was hallucinogenic to anyone but Kirigakure ninjas and as Scorps exerted his chakra on to it he could understand why. The Mist was a complex web of Suiton Chakra, sustained by 4 towers all around the village, probably fuelled by sealed chakra, woven together with Yin Chakra. If done on purpose or not, the truth is that the energies of the deceased that lingered in the maternal mist were responsible for the illusionary effect. It was an ingenious combination of both Suiton and Yin, creating an elemental Genjutsu of sorts. Problem was that Scorps wasn’t a exactly a pure Yin Release user.
“Scary, as we thought, the maternal mist is a mix of 2 techniques, Suiton based Mist making simply a larger version of the normal hidden mist, and a Yin Release aspect to it that I can’t even call it a technique. Its…as if their fallen ninja clinged to the mist to try and protect the village…”
“Well, that’s what we considered and planed for. So its time to go with the 2nd step of the plan. Jinbei, are you ready?”
“Yes sensei, I found 2.”
“Same here. On my mark. 3, 2, 1…now!”
And both him and Jinbei slammed their hands on the ground, releasing through it a tremendous amount of chakra. It seemed to haven’t done anything but Scary Yamato and Jinbei continued, just like Scorps, apparently doing a great effort and focusing hard. Suddenly, at the distance, the sound of rocks and fallen debris could be heard and Jinbei said
“One down…”
Then Scary Yamato said
“Two down…”
“Three down”
and finally
“All down. Scorps…”
It was an easy plan. Scorps had considered before that the maternal mist may not be possible to simply manipulate and dispel but dispelling it was the corner stone of their plan. The mist acted as a sensing system for intrusions in its range but also for abnormalities. If Reborn was to sneak out and release Wesobi, the mist needed to be taken out of commission for him to act undetected. With that in mind, Scorps and Jinbei considered that, if the mist wasn’t easily dispelled, they would track Scorps’ chakra into the towers that control it as Scorps tried to dispel it. This way, without chakra fuelling it, it would be easier to dispel. Having found the towers, Scary Yamato and Jinbei simply used a low rank earth technique to collapse the foundations of the towers. Dispite that, using a technique, even if weak and simple, at a distance of more than 8 kms, through sensory knowledge only, was incredibly taxing and hard. Thankfully, once the towers fell, the mist lost its Yin aspect. Perhaps, with no Kirigakure ninja connected to the mist, the spirits of those latching on to the mist desperately trying to protect them, passed on. Whatever the reason was, it worked and, thankfully, all that was left was a low rank water technique. One that Scorps could take control of. Clenching his fists the mist suddenly condensed itself on the distance, above the village, into two basketball sized orbs. The amount of water inside them was ridiculous and having compressed it so much, the orbs stood as potential massive bombs. But their purpose wasn’t to destroy the village and kill ninjas. Despite it all, they knew that in a village, most of its members blindly follow orders and have no real fault. Sadly, it was how the system was built. Scorps then made a movement with his hands and the spheres rose up into the sky. As they reached a height beyond his control, they burst into a massive explosion. Suddenly, rain started to fall copiously in the area before leaving a clear sky.
“Scorps, they found us”
“Yes…time to get our hands dirty”
And as Scorps said that, a large blast of water rampaged across the water towards their position, its size similar to a Bijudama. It was fired from the village but its movement was so fast that they couldn’t immediately pinpoint its origin.
“Sensei, Scorps-san, allow me” and as Jinbei spoke he pointed his palm forward. A large green cloud-like energy surrounded the water blast and stopped it just shy of the island. With a flick of his wrist, the massive energy cloud filled with water was sent back at the village, aiming at its harbour.
“Jinbei, your Kiyoshi powers have improved drastically.”
“Thank you sensei, Roku-san is…”
“INCOMING!” yelled Scorps. Another shot had been fired, much more powerful than before but more importantly much faster. “I’ll do it! You two prepare us a way to get to the village fast!” Clapping his hands Scorps focused a large amount of chakra. From the coastal limits of the small island a large network wall of fungus rose, 20 meters tall. The tops of the mushrooms grew drastically in size, making a formidable defence. The large water blast hit the fungal wall, making it whine and bend slightly backwards as an rapid mist spread into the air around as a result of the large blast, leaving everything drenched. He wasn't counting on long range artillery attacks. And so powerful also.
“Scorps!” called Scary Yamato, 20 meters behind Scorps. The wall should be able to resist one more attack so Scorps withdrew. As he stood next to Scary Yamato, he raise his right palm, engulfed in golden chakra. It was then that Scorps noticed that he was standing on a weird crystalized golden substance. “Kohaku no Jutsu!” said Scary Yamato as the platform quickly rose into the air. He then used his chakra and manipulated the platform as if it was a flying carpet, making it fly across the island and in the direction of Kirigakure, incircling to the right, the large Fungal wall which had just been hit by a new attack. It collapsed just as they passed next to it, rapidly converging upon the village. The speed was indeed immense.
“Scary, quite the interesting technique…where di…”
“Scorps! INCOMING!” yelled Scary this time. Barrages of water bullets spread across the ocean towards them, artillery fire from what they could now piece was a complex of defensive towers surrounding the village, mounted with Chakra Water Cannons, some clearly designed to deliver fast, numerous barrages of small water bullets and others, bigger, designed for long range assault with massive, slow paced water bullets.
“Jinbei, use the water!”
“Excellent idea Scorps-san!”
Scorps took the water goddess and swung it around, first from left to right, then the opposite direction. Using his chakra he manipulated the ocean beneath them, forming gigantic waves in the distance which rose and acted as water walls. He understood that he didn’t need to stop the attacks but only divert them from their path and upon doing so, he didn’t even need to keep great control over the water waves as he only needed to raise them in the right timing and let their momentum do the rest. Jinbei, on the other hand, used his chakra to manipulate the water beneath them and rise 3 large rings around them. As he did, the water began to spin in opposing axis and different directions. As it did, a shield of water formed around them. By making it a spinning, moving shield, the smaller water bullets didn’t need to be stopped and simply diverted to the sides of them. It needed less chakra than a normal water shield and was much more efficient though harder to sustain.
“Jinbei, Izuna would be proud!”
“I pale in your shadows, sensei and senpai”
Scary maneuvered the technique and with the combine effort of the three, they managed to advance undamaged towards the village. As they approached the village, they were finally in range of the defensive artillery for an effective attack. Scary was the one to act, fast and swift, with massive precision. He did a blazing fast sequence of handseals with his free hand. At first, it seemed nothing happened but then suddenly the towers all started to sink and rapidly sunk on the ground all around.
“Sensei, how…?”
“Doton: Yomi Numa!”
“Wow! Never saw someone doing it with one handed handseals and never saw it used like that with such precision…”
Scorps was also impressed. His friend was truly remarkable in his skill. Quickly they reached the village grounds and landed. It wasn’t more than a moment before they were surrounded by a plethora of Kirigakure ninjas. They felt confident, as they hadn’t even spent more than 1% of their chakra. Seemed the time spent amassing and focusing chakra was well spent. But what they saw and felt was something they could never imagine. It was so disturbing that they were all momentarily stunned…
“Scary, is this what I think it is?”
“Seems like that… We cannot kill them…”
“Then sensei, how do we…”
A few days earlier…
With Ragnaroc and Xylon inside the barrier, knocked out, a tall, slender man approached the lustful woman. By his side, a smaller stature, slightly denser man stood. Both had an aura that exuded confidence and power. The tall man had 3 Katanas on his waist and green hair. On his chest a large scar stood across it. His companion had golden, messy hair and carried a Koto on his back, albeit smaller than the usual ones. Both had simple kimonos, the swordsman a dark green one and the musician a deep grey one. However, the swordsman’s posture was completely taken out by the woman’s approach. She ran, before either of them could notice, like a child, arms wide opened and wrapped around the swordsman’s neck, dangling on it like a little kid would do to a father. The effect was so drastic that the swordsman fell to his butt, leaving the woman in a very awkward and comedic position, sitting on him. She giggled so much that it was infectious. The swordsman’s face turned red with embarrassment, and he lost his composure in complete awkwardness.
“CALIBURN!!!!!!! I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!!!!!” yelled the woman in such a different demeanour than before that one would say it wasn’t the same person.
“erm…you shouldn’t…I mean…I….eto”
“Eheh…Caliburn, seems nothing has changed!” said the musician.
“ROKU!!!!!!” and before the man could react, the same was happening to him, but this time the woman simply squeezed him into her bosom with a very dramatic gesture. A small drop of blood was seen on the musician’s nose before he passed out. “OH! Dam you Roku! Haven’t you still managed to resist a woman without passing out?” he thought to himself.
“Cover yourself!!! What are you doing here? When we sensed you, we couldn’t believe. We thought you had been captured. Its not that I don’t like to see you again but I fear this might not be the best of times. We found that…”
“I know about it all already Caliburn! Don’t worry! I’m here to help end it. Otherwise it wouldn’t be at all possible. The Yokai’s vessel is powerful but he will not be able to resist her without my help. Not for long anyway. Neither of them know what they are attempting to face.”
“Uh? How did you know that the Yokai’s vessel was captured and the plan of the enemy? I mean, how could you…”
“How I know is of no consequence…However, you are wrong. The Yokai’s vessel isn’t captured. He is planning to attack Kirigakure and face her directly to save Wesobi. Though, its unlikely he knows what he’s up against.”
“You mean…is the vessel…but…how and…since when did you…”
“All in due time. For now, I need you both to share with me what you’ve been doing and if its well protected. Also, I want us to help them so we need to move fast. Its only a matter of days and we’re very far from the Mist. How many are still with us?”
“… Not many. Roku, me, Emperor, Kagutsuchi, Goro, Mugiwara and Zenryoku. The rest have all been captured by her, killed or MIA.”
“… Seriously? Then the power she has is truly fearsome. We need to move fast. Her plan is more advanced than I considered. Much more… Wake Roku up and lets getting move you slacks!”
The swordsman picked the musician up and put him across his shoulder. He still couldn’t believe someone as strong as him would faint because of a woman. But then again, she wasn’t just any woman.
“Lawliet, I missed you…”
“I missed you too, Marimo. Now, lets move on. You can get touchy feely afterwards!”
“What do we do with them, Miss Marshmallow?” said the swordsman pointing at the ninja inside the barrier, both unconscious but somehow unharmed.
“Well, can we bring them with us? I think they would be useful at some point. I still think Ragnaroc’s heart is not fully corrupted. The other one has already fallen…Beyond any of us…”
“We can but will they even be ok? What did you do to them anyway?” said the swordsman as he did a few hand gestures with his left hand in the air. A large orb of what appeared to be pure vacuum appeared and from it tendrils of a black energy rampaged forwards towards the barrier, engulfing it in black energy and pulling it towards the vacuum, which then disappeared. It was very reminiscent of a sealing technique but using 2 elements as a medium and two very advanced elements. She didn’t recognize the technique nor the elements. Caliburn had really grown.
“I used a powerful pure illusion on them. Nothing much. They should be ok.”
“A pure illusion? Remind me never to get on your bad side!”
“I have no bad side! Can’t you see? Ahaha” she said as she walked, lusciously and provocatively in front of him.
“I’m not Roku…”
“No, that’s is true. You don’t faint…anymore…ahahah! Lets go!”
“Humpf…” said the swordsman, completely blush and embarrassed.
As Scary Yamato burned the Mizukage office to the ground on the surface, deep beneath Kirigakure, a maniacal laughter could be heard, echoing in the massive unground cave. It resonated in such a drastic way that it appeared a murder of harpies had gathered.
“They fell for the trap! The Yurei and the Yokai are as good as mine! AHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHH!”
