As Wesobi woke up, he could feel the cold touch of wet rock on his back and the echoes os a nearby conversation. As he opened his eyes, the surrouding are was bathed in a dim, orange light of a candle sitting nearby. As much as he tried to, he couldn’t remember anything. Last memory on his mind was of Akisha serving another glass of Nigori.
Bent on focusing in more productive endeveaours, he concentrated on his current situation and noticed he was suspended by his wrists, with his arms opened, restricted by what seemed at first to be a weird plant, against a rock wall. From the quick, hazed, analysis, he reasoned that he was insided a cave. As the haze gradually diminished, he identified the origin of the echoes. About 10 meters away, near the opening of the chamber in which he was, 2 individuals talked. By their voice, Wesobi noticed one was a woman.
“Why didn’t you kill him Lili?” said the man. “He is too powerful to be left alive. You know he is one of the few who can undermine our plan.”
“Such power is too beautiful to destroy just like that...” she replied. “He will not be a threat any longer”
“And you know this why? He is your brother, yes, but we can’t have feelings mixed into our objectives. You know that our lives are riding on this whole thing. If you aren’t strong enough then...”
But the tension filled the room before the man could finish his sentence. A nausiating dark feeling spilled into the air as she looked upon him. Wesobi suddenly saw visions of his own death, replayed again and again, before his very eyes as this pressure overcame his own reason. In a glimpse he could she the woman’s eyes appear to glimmer in a slight crimson taint.
“Never doubt my resolve. None of us has risked so much and gave up on so much for this as me. And you’d do well to remember... Xylon”
And the pressure disappeared. Wesobi panted slightly, trying not to vomit. Had he hear correctly? Xylon? His former teacher? And did he call her Lili? Could they be... Akatsuki’s Radioactive Flash and... Kirigakure’s Blood Maiden? Worry and fear clouded Wesobi’s mind at that point. He remembered the ambush and being put out cold by Akiza, the Sharingan Sage and Mistress of Akatsuki... And he knew they could only be after... “Him...”
“Look Lili, our guest has awoken... Hey, Wesobi-kun.” said Xylon as he and Lili approached Wesobi.
“My brother was right about you... “ mumbled Wesobi as he faced Xylon
“Our brother was right about many things...yet that didn’t serve him well...”
“What do you want with me?”
From behind Lili and Xylon, a female voice, bathed in mallice and darkness, was heard and a silhouette of a tall, lustfull woman emerged from the shadows.
“You know what we want, Wesobi, Barer of the Demon and Keeper of Darkness. Its only a question of how you’ll give It to us: willingly or forcefully.” As the woman emerged from the shadows, Wesobi saw her waist long red crimson hair, filled with lustful locks, her sinful figure and her red crimson eyes, adorned with 3 tomoes. Noticing Wesobi’s small drip of drool in the right corner of his mouth, the unknown woman said “Typical...”
“What did you expect Rei, he’s but a man... They have 2 brains and unfortunately, only the lower one functions...” said Lili.
Wesobi’s world collapsed as he just realized who was in front of him...

Scorps was heavily panting as he grabbed the wound in his right leg, hoping to put enough pressure on it to stop the bleeding.
“So, the mighty Scorps falls to my hands...” said Emperor. “You seem to have cross my path in one of my “kill days”. You see, I only kill on some days, in the others, I do not. I simply torture. Those are my Torture days. Anywho, its unfortunate.”
“You are trully as nuts as everyone says” managed to mumble Scorps as he tried to stand up and look at his unexpected opponent.
“Say what now?” Emperor said, putting his hand on his ear as if to hear better “I cannot hear you all too well because of all the dieing you are doing at the moment...perhaps I should simply wait it out and speak to you after you’re dead. I find that dead people are the most amazing conversational partners. I once talked with a corpse for more than a week. He was an amazing listener...”
“What the...oh for god sake, kill me now!”
“Well, if you insist...” and a large spear of a weird chakra formed in Emperor’s hand. Even from the distance, Scorps could feel its foul nature. “*Is that...chakra from the Jubi?*” It was all over for him as he understood what was about to happen.
He still couldn’t wrap his head around what happened in the last 20 minutes. On the main road to the Land of Iron, he simply bumped, literally, on Emperor, the Sage of Penguins and Other Weird Things or whatever the hell they called him. Not only that but even with all the efforts and tactics, his identity was exposed immediately. Then, for the next 20 minutes, Scorps was toyed around by Emperor. Unable to use Ninjutsu or effictively mold grand quantities of chakra, Scorps found himself unable to fight off his enemy. Illusions didn’t work on him, for some reason, and while in Taijutsu Scorps was much more profecient, his enemy took that to his advantage and managed to hit Scorps with Lightning at least 4 times. At this point Scorps was reaching his limit. From what he knew of this mad man, he generally killed only for the thrill of it. And some times, as incredible as it may seem, he simply healed his enemies. A strange man with no rules or boundaries, tons of power and a corrupted mind... “*I always had a knack for the most coocoo opponents...*”.
Only one option was left for Scorps: he needed to destroy himself. His body carried secrets and power that could not be left in the hands of enemies and his mind carried the darkest and most dangerous secrets of Konohagakure. So, in a desperate act, he simply focused all his chakra and compressed it at his core. Emperor noticed it but didn’t seem to understand the gravity of what Scorps was about to do.
“So, molding your chakra? For what? A defense? AHAHA! You haven’t used Ninjutsu once in our fight and you’re supposed to be strong so you must be sick or injured in some way. *pointing at his head* You see, I'm crazy as the Sage of Music's experiments but I'm not stupid! And now you mold chakra as a desperate attempt to use a technique? Look at you... I’m telling you, as a corpse, you’ll be much better at keeping a conversation going.”
But as Scorps was about to release all his chakra outwards in one large blast, turning himself, through the use of his medical grade chakra control, into a human chakra bomb, he felt his chakra change nature and become...different. But he also felt that his infection was getting worse the more chakra he focused, preventing him from actually taking time to understand what was happening. So he had to be quick. He had to die... As he released his chakra, it escaped each of his tenketsu as a blast, burning his skin and muscles as it escaped, forming a large ball of what appeared to be golden and black flames, shot outwards into a large area.
The area surrounding Scorps location was cleared and destroyed and he layed down on the ground, knocked out. Emperor was no where to be seen, seemingly managing to escape. In truth, he barely escaped with his life. His skin had suffered a weird type of burn and he barely managed to stay conscious himself.
From a clearing 50 meters away, Emperor stood, panting heavily as he surveyed the crater surrounding his opponent. “Wowaaaaaa! Seems you are trully powerful...look at me! all burned out!” but assessing the situation, Emperor reasoned that such a large display of chakra and power wouldn’t be left unchecked by any neighbouring ninjas and in his condition he couldn’t risk a fight. Not only that but, looking at Scorps, it was clear he was out of chakra and dead, so no point in staying around.
As Emperor left the scene, weakened and demented as always, he looked back only to find that, strangely and without his notice, Scorps’ body had vanished.

6 Months later, near the border of the Land of Iron, night was falling as Scorps prepared to make camp. Lighting up a small fire, he started to heat up his dinner: a small fish he caught earlier in the day.
“*I hope you are ok brother...*” he thought to himself.
>> Crack << he heard nearby, as something stepped on a twig. Instinctively grabbing his staff with his right hand and an unknown sword wrapped in cloth with his left, he didn’t move, pretending to be asleep. Whatever was coming was drawing near, approaching from his 3 O’Clock.
“You really think that pretending to be asleep can fool anyone?” said a familiar voice.
“Anyone, I don’t know...but I was hoping I could fool you, old friend, seeing as you were always a bit slow on the uptake...” replied Scorps as he opened his eyes and....
>>BAM!<< something heavy hit his head.
“What the hell Scary???!!”
“You deserved that and much more! I told you to stay in the village! I was Hokage and you still didn’t obey! I could have ordered your hunting and execution as a missing nin and danger to the village! You dim witted fool!” said his old friend as he swung a wooden pole in his right hand.
“You alreayd knew I was going to go... And...wait...”Was the Hokage” ? So, you aren’t the Hokage anymore? What happened? Was it because of me?”
“Not everything in this world revolves around you and your misfit family...” said Scary as he sat down by the fire on Scorps’ left “I couldn’t deal with it. I couldn’t deal with the politics and the cover ups and all the dirty things one must do to keep the village’s face. No. I wanted revenge on my friend and I wanted to help your sorry ass to save your brother.”
“You... Man... I can’t express how...you know...“ said Scorps before a moment of silence during which they both simply stared at the fire, Scorps messing with a stick on the ground, scribling kanjis “And so, who is Hokage now? And what exactly has been happening?”
“Well, we had tons of problems during these few last months, as I’m pretty sure you’ve noticed or heard of. Apparently, some of our ninjas were Kumogakure spies. And they escaped with sensitive information. We attacked and won but nothing good came of that because we simply didn’t change a thing. Kirigakure took the opportunity and started ambushing our ninjas in a milita-like war effort to weaken us. Sunagakure took this opportunity to start stealing Kirigakure’s shipments and provisions and Iwagakure tried to destroy Kumogakure, trying to use the aftermath of our small engagement to their benefict. The end result was 6 months of...well...how to put it.... a ****ing mess. So, I started to notice that something was behind all this conflict. I noticed some...well..you can call them shifts in the wind... Some signs that something wasn’t right. And with my increasingly discontent towards the position, I decided to step down. I passed the key of the Seal of Watchers to McRazor, the Ice Master and your former student. He’s the Hokage now, aided by Dante.”
“McRazor? Dam... Well, thats not that surprising. I felt the same as you by the way and knew about most of the conflicts. Somethings are indeed strange in all this... What did you find out so far? Anything new?” said Scorps as he turned his fish in the fire, roasting it slowly.
“More or less. Typhon was able to release Pop from his genjutsu like you said. However, as we feared, Pop was simply too damaged. His mind was simply too shattered. Still, he repeated some names...” said Scary but almost with a fear in his voice “He continued to say Rei had risen and that... that “it” would be revived”
“Rei? Rei Uchiha? The old Sharingan Master? Wasn’t she one of the first Sharingan Masters? She died...long ago. If memory serves me right it was...”
“665 years ago. I checked. But you know fairly well that death in our world is nothing but a name for something that some manage to escape...and that others seek refuge in”
“Scary, what you are implying is very serious but it doesn’t justify it all... Rei was a powerful Kunoichi but one driven to improve the world, to help others. She was bent on rebuilding her clan as a beacon of light and wisdom, opposite to the pit of shadow and darkness it was and now still is. Why would she want Wesobi? This off course, assuming that it was possible for her to be alive...”
“Scorps, Death is nothing but a passage, one that goes both ways. And you know that some ninjas have found ways to cheat or delay death. Look at Nexus! God knows how long that wreched corpse has lived... And Wesobi holds inside him the key to ending this world. He holds inside him the darkest secret of the 5 great ninja villages. If someone got hold of it and managed to control it... Everyone with knowledge of what he carries and what he is has motive to try and control him and it...”
“But Lawliet can...” said Scorps as he lifted his eyes up to Scary
“No one has seen Lawliet in ages. She took to exile, watching this world as if part of another. Even if we found her, she might not be willing to help us on our quest, which to be honest, we don’t even understand ourselves. Shit, we don't even know if its actually a real issue. And she isn’t the solution. The one sealed inside her is light... It can only be used to fight darkness but it will never end it or defeat it. Same as the other way around. If she is put into the equation, assuming she has a role to play, we are faced with another big issue. Have you forgotten the old teachings? A world ruled by “light” is nothing more than a world riddled with lurking shadows...You know this.”
“Still, she is the only one who managed to gain control. Wesobi doesn’t have control. If they manage to release it, he cannot control it to seal it back again... “
Scary looked at Scorps with a dark serious stare as he said “I know.” and he diverted his gaze at the stary sky. “And you? What have you found out in these 6 months? Its been a mess to track you down. I was only able to do it because you carry me cells since that day in Iwagakure. I noticed recently, that I could sense your presence similar to how I can sense the chakra seeds. From my understanding, when you were injured 6 years ago and I infused your body with my cells, I somehow retained the ability to connect with those cells and track them. A usefull side effect I think but one I don't understand to be honest...mysteries...” and Scary took a bottle of water and took a zip “By the way, your condition has worsen hasn’t it? I can’t feel your chakra at all. Its...weird. And I know that something happened in the outskirts of the Land of Iron involving you. Spill it...”
“Well, you can’t feel my chakra because I’m surpressing it, which I learned to do perfectly to escape detection. Its surprisingly easy to walk around the ninja world if you are confused with a normal person in which no one would think twice as being a threat. One week after leaving Konohagakure, I reached the borders of the Land of Iron, not very far from this spot we are in now. In the main road I crossed paths with Emperor...”
“Emperor? The sage of...well...the Weird Sage? He’s a mad man...or little plant...or canivourous petunia...O__O I honestly don't know what he is...”
“Nor do I. And yes, I stumbled upon him and he engaged me in combat. My illusions didn’t work on him and by using Taijutsu, I was getting myself right in the target of his lighting techniques. Not long after, the effort of fighting started depleating my chakra and I felt the disease spreading. He then injured my leg and I knew right then and there.... I figured that I was...well, done for. So I molded my chakra, all of it, and released it in its purest form, trying to basically kill myself and destroy my body so that he couldn’t gain any knowledge from me.” Scorps took a bite of the fish, noticing that Scary was drinking every word he said with an uncanny attention and focus “When I woke up, I was standing in a crater with nothing around. I felt tired but I could feel my chakra normally and I couldn’t feel any draining. It was as if the fungus was no more.”
“But how? Just like that? And Emperor? I mean, what you describe is hardly enough to kill someone like him just like that...” said Scary.
“Well, I have found my true nature... And the true nature of my chakra... Its very...well... unique... I call it Ibiton... I’ve been training myself to control it since then but I only scratched the surface. Unfortunately, its tightly connected with my emotions and self consicious which makes it very hard to control when I'm worried about my brother... Its really weird to be honest and frustrating." he took another bite off the fish
"What does it do?"
"Well, This nature i can inbue my chakra with provides an interesting characteristic to it: it can “age” things. It basically decays anything it touches... Thus why I probably have injured Emperor enough for him to feel the need to escape my vicinity that day... I doubt I have killed him though...”
“Ibiton...Decay Release? Interesting...who would have known Lili would be the one responsible for awakening your true nature as she tried to kill you? Well, that explains that but in these 6 months, what have you been doing? I assume you have discovered more than I did while I was crammed away into the Hokage office...”
“Well, yes. Many things. So, first thing I did was track down Keotsu but that was a vain effort. Akiza basically whiped his mind clean of her existance. And trust me, I confirmed it. It was really easy to use Genjutsu and manipulate his mind into telling me the truth...and his mind trully had no recollection of Akiza. So, that was a dead end. From there I made a visit to the other 4 biggest Hidden Villages, all in secret off course, before I returned to the Land of Fire, when I once again started digging around, during which I found out something weird. All the Sages are currently missing excluding me and you, aren't they? The week after that nights attack, all Sages were gone. No one has seen or heard of any of them since them. I probably intercepted Emperor in his “escape” from Sunagakure”
“Ok...Yes, I noticed that...but still thats weird... But then, why didn’t they speak to me? Assuming this is somehow “sage related”, I'm one of the council seats...”
“You said so yourself...you were Hokage and that means your loyalty is first and foremost towards Konohagakure. Either they didn’t want to ask you to remove yourself from your duties or your affiliation with the village and Wesobi meant you were in the wrong side for them...”
“You speak as if... Wait! You’re telling me they are behind this? I’d trust most of them with my life Scorps!” said Scary with a tone of anger.
“Well, Akiza, one of the oldest sages, was involved in the attack... Since that night I’ve been thinking about how they entered the village so easily but more importantly, how the last unknown guy entered and then how they left...just like that. Since then that question has been consuming me. And I found the answer... “
“Xylon, the Radioactive Flash and Sage of Tactics... I know”
Scorps was caught by surprise. His friend trully was a surprising ninja
“Ok... Well, wood-party-pooper-know-it-all... since you know that, you know that so far 2 Sages were involved. And you also know that to contain It, if their goal is to release It, you’d need at least 3 MS grade Genjutsu users and multiple Fuuinjutsu experts as well as multiple strong chakras to fuel the whole process. The 21 Sages are the only options. Me, you and Izuna couldn’t be considered because of our ties to Wesobi. Akiza is dead. But that still leaves 17 Sages... 17 insanely powerful ninjas that suddenly went missing after Wesobi was taken... Scary, you know that I’m on to something...And they don't even need the 17... From my research and calculations, they need only 9...”
“Yes, some connection exists. But, we don’t know what it is... I mean, they can simply be working to stop it... I don’t know... I don’t see some of those guys trying to release it. I mean, most of them are able to destroy a whole village alone with a finger flick, so power is something they already have. What would be the motivation?”
“Madness never has a motivation... But the story doesn’t end here. Apart from the missing Sages I found out that Caliburn had taken 6 of the 7 Swordsman Swords from their users when he disappeared. The only one remaining is this one... the Water Goddess” said scorps as he reveals the wrapped unknown sword he had to be in truth, Izuna’s Water Goddess.
“YOU! We searched for that for weeks! You took it??? Scorps...why didn’t you trust me???”
“Well, you’d only try to stop me...”

“Well, whats done is done. However, it worries me that he took all the swords. And I found evidence that most of the Sages took with them multiple powerful things, as if gathering their power. And, then, in Kirigakure, in Lili’s quarters, I found... the Book of Profecies...”
“What? but... Alucard, did he know?”
“I don’t think so but he disappeared as well so its uncertain... However... I know for sure... She knows about the Profecy...”
“We are running around in circles. All this mishmash information doesn’t say much. We are here, 6 months later, knowing little more than we did 6 months ago... Wesobi and Lawliet are real...As is what they carry inside... the profecies are works of demented drunken old bosses... I mean, did the Panda Sage ever say anything worth listening? And did the Macaw Prince ever make a real profecy? What about the Old Toad Sage? Come on... Most of them don't even know what day it is...”
Scorps waited before replying, as if chewing on each word carefully before speaking “The revival of the yōkai and the yūrei will be set upon the blood of two innocents: the vessels of misfortune. Their battle will reduce the world to embers of sorrow and pain.”

In truth, he barely escaped with his life. His skin had suffered a weird type of burn and he barely managed to stay conscious himself.
From a clearing 50 meters away, Emperor stood, panting heavily as he surveyed the crater surrounding his opponent. “Wowaaaaaa! Seems you are trully powerful...look at me! all burned out!” but assessing the situation, Emperor reasoned that such a large display of chakra and power wouldn’t be left unchecked by any neighbouring ninjas and in his condition he couldn’t risk a fight. Not only that but, looking at Scorps, it was clear he was out of chakra and dead, so no point in staying around.
As Emperor left the scene, weakened and demented as always, he looked back only to find that, strangely and without his notice, Scorps’ body had vanished.

6 Months later, near the border of the Land of Iron, night was falling as Scorps prepared to make camp. Lighting up a small fire, he started to heat up his dinner: a small fish he caught earlier in the day.
“*I hope you are ok brother...*” he thought to himself.
>> Crack << he heard nearby, as something stepped on a twig. Instinctively grabbing his staff with his right hand and an unknown sword wrapped in cloth with his left, he didn’t move, pretending to be asleep. Whatever was coming was drawing near, approaching from his 3 O’Clock.
“You really think that pretending to be asleep can fool anyone?” said a familiar voice.
“Anyone, I don’t know...but I was hoping I could fool you, old friend, seeing as you were always a bit slow on the uptake...” replied Scorps as he opened his eyes and....
>>BAM!<< something heavy hit his head.
“What the hell Scary???!!”
“You deserved that and much more! I told you to stay in the village! I was Hokage and you still didn’t obey! I could have ordered your hunting and execution as a missing nin and danger to the village! You dim witted fool!” said his old friend as he swung a wooden pole in his right hand.
“You alreayd knew I was going to go... And...wait...”Was the Hokage” ? So, you aren’t the Hokage anymore? What happened? Was it because of me?”
“Not everything in this world revolves around you and your misfit family...” said Scary as he sat down by the fire on Scorps’ left “I couldn’t deal with it. I couldn’t deal with the politics and the cover ups and all the dirty things one must do to keep the village’s face. No. I wanted revenge on my friend and I wanted to help your sorry ass to save your brother.”
“You... Man... I can’t express how...you know...“ said Scorps before a moment of silence during which they both simply stared at the fire, Scorps messing with a stick on the ground, scribling kanjis “And so, who is Hokage now? And what exactly has been happening?”
“Well, we had tons of problems during these few last months, as I’m pretty sure you’ve noticed or heard of. Apparently, some of our ninjas were Kumogakure spies. And they escaped with sensitive information. We attacked and won but nothing good came of that because we simply didn’t change a thing. Kirigakure took the opportunity and started ambushing our ninjas in a milita-like war effort to weaken us. Sunagakure took this opportunity to start stealing Kirigakure’s shipments and provisions and Iwagakure tried to destroy Kumogakure, trying to use the aftermath of our small engagement to their benefict. The end result was 6 months of...well...how to put it.... a ****ing mess. So, I started to notice that something was behind all this conflict. I noticed some...well..you can call them shifts in the wind... Some signs that something wasn’t right. And with my increasingly discontent towards the position, I decided to step down. I passed the key of the Seal of Watchers to McRazor, the Ice Master and your former student. He’s the Hokage now, aided by Dante.”
“McRazor? Dam... Well, thats not that surprising. I felt the same as you by the way and knew about most of the conflicts. Somethings are indeed strange in all this... What did you find out so far? Anything new?” said Scorps as he turned his fish in the fire, roasting it slowly.
“More or less. Typhon was able to release Pop from his genjutsu like you said. However, as we feared, Pop was simply too damaged. His mind was simply too shattered. Still, he repeated some names...” said Scary but almost with a fear in his voice “He continued to say Rei had risen and that... that “it” would be revived”
“Rei? Rei Uchiha? The old Sharingan Master? Wasn’t she one of the first Sharingan Masters? She died...long ago. If memory serves me right it was...”
“665 years ago. I checked. But you know fairly well that death in our world is nothing but a name for something that some manage to escape...and that others seek refuge in”
“Scary, what you are implying is very serious but it doesn’t justify it all... Rei was a powerful Kunoichi but one driven to improve the world, to help others. She was bent on rebuilding her clan as a beacon of light and wisdom, opposite to the pit of shadow and darkness it was and now still is. Why would she want Wesobi? This off course, assuming that it was possible for her to be alive...”
“Scorps, Death is nothing but a passage, one that goes both ways. And you know that some ninjas have found ways to cheat or delay death. Look at Nexus! God knows how long that wreched corpse has lived... And Wesobi holds inside him the key to ending this world. He holds inside him the darkest secret of the 5 great ninja villages. If someone got hold of it and managed to control it... Everyone with knowledge of what he carries and what he is has motive to try and control him and it...”
“But Lawliet can...” said Scorps as he lifted his eyes up to Scary
“No one has seen Lawliet in ages. She took to exile, watching this world as if part of another. Even if we found her, she might not be willing to help us on our quest, which to be honest, we don’t even understand ourselves. Shit, we don't even know if its actually a real issue. And she isn’t the solution. The one sealed inside her is light... It can only be used to fight darkness but it will never end it or defeat it. Same as the other way around. If she is put into the equation, assuming she has a role to play, we are faced with another big issue. Have you forgotten the old teachings? A world ruled by “light” is nothing more than a world riddled with lurking shadows...You know this.”
“Still, she is the only one who managed to gain control. Wesobi doesn’t have control. If they manage to release it, he cannot control it to seal it back again... “
Scary looked at Scorps with a dark serious stare as he said “I know.” and he diverted his gaze at the stary sky. “And you? What have you found out in these 6 months? Its been a mess to track you down. I was only able to do it because you carry me cells since that day in Iwagakure. I noticed recently, that I could sense your presence similar to how I can sense the chakra seeds. From my understanding, when you were injured 6 years ago and I infused your body with my cells, I somehow retained the ability to connect with those cells and track them. A usefull side effect I think but one I don't understand to be honest...mysteries...” and Scary took a bottle of water and took a zip “By the way, your condition has worsen hasn’t it? I can’t feel your chakra at all. Its...weird. And I know that something happened in the outskirts of the Land of Iron involving you. Spill it...”
“Well, you can’t feel my chakra because I’m surpressing it, which I learned to do perfectly to escape detection. Its surprisingly easy to walk around the ninja world if you are confused with a normal person in which no one would think twice as being a threat. One week after leaving Konohagakure, I reached the borders of the Land of Iron, not very far from this spot we are in now. In the main road I crossed paths with Emperor...”
“Emperor? The sage of...well...the Weird Sage? He’s a mad man...or little plant...or canivourous petunia...O__O I honestly don't know what he is...”
“Nor do I. And yes, I stumbled upon him and he engaged me in combat. My illusions didn’t work on him and by using Taijutsu, I was getting myself right in the target of his lighting techniques. Not long after, the effort of fighting started depleating my chakra and I felt the disease spreading. He then injured my leg and I knew right then and there.... I figured that I was...well, done for. So I molded my chakra, all of it, and released it in its purest form, trying to basically kill myself and destroy my body so that he couldn’t gain any knowledge from me.” Scorps took a bite of the fish, noticing that Scary was drinking every word he said with an uncanny attention and focus “When I woke up, I was standing in a crater with nothing around. I felt tired but I could feel my chakra normally and I couldn’t feel any draining. It was as if the fungus was no more.”
“But how? Just like that? And Emperor? I mean, what you describe is hardly enough to kill someone like him just like that...” said Scary.
“Well, I have found my true nature... And the true nature of my chakra... Its very...well... unique... I call it Ibiton... I’ve been training myself to control it since then but I only scratched the surface. Unfortunately, its tightly connected with my emotions and self consicious which makes it very hard to control when I'm worried about my brother... Its really weird to be honest and frustrating." he took another bite off the fish
"What does it do?"
"Well, This nature i can inbue my chakra with provides an interesting characteristic to it: it can “age” things. It basically decays anything it touches... Thus why I probably have injured Emperor enough for him to feel the need to escape my vicinity that day... I doubt I have killed him though...”
“Ibiton...Decay Release? Interesting...who would have known Lili would be the one responsible for awakening your true nature as she tried to kill you? Well, that explains that but in these 6 months, what have you been doing? I assume you have discovered more than I did while I was crammed away into the Hokage office...”
“Well, yes. Many things. So, first thing I did was track down Keotsu but that was a vain effort. Akiza basically whiped his mind clean of her existance. And trust me, I confirmed it. It was really easy to use Genjutsu and manipulate his mind into telling me the truth...and his mind trully had no recollection of Akiza. So, that was a dead end. From there I made a visit to the other 4 biggest Hidden Villages, all in secret off course, before I returned to the Land of Fire, when I once again started digging around, during which I found out something weird. All the Sages are currently missing excluding me and you, aren't they? The week after that nights attack, all Sages were gone. No one has seen or heard of any of them since them. I probably intercepted Emperor in his “escape” from Sunagakure”
“Ok...Yes, I noticed that...but still thats weird... But then, why didn’t they speak to me? Assuming this is somehow “sage related”, I'm one of the council seats...”
“You said so yourself...you were Hokage and that means your loyalty is first and foremost towards Konohagakure. Either they didn’t want to ask you to remove yourself from your duties or your affiliation with the village and Wesobi meant you were in the wrong side for them...”
“You speak as if... Wait! You’re telling me they are behind this? I’d trust most of them with my life Scorps!” said Scary with a tone of anger.
“Well, Akiza, one of the oldest sages, was involved in the attack... Since that night I’ve been thinking about how they entered the village so easily but more importantly, how the last unknown guy entered and then how they left...just like that. Since then that question has been consuming me. And I found the answer... “
“Xylon, the Radioactive Flash and Sage of Tactics... I know”
Scorps was caught by surprise. His friend trully was a surprising ninja
“Ok... Well, wood-party-pooper-know-it-all... since you know that, you know that so far 2 Sages were involved. And you also know that to contain It, if their goal is to release It, you’d need at least 3 MS grade Genjutsu users and multiple Fuuinjutsu experts as well as multiple strong chakras to fuel the whole process. The 21 Sages are the only options. Me, you and Izuna couldn’t be considered because of our ties to Wesobi. Akiza is dead. But that still leaves 17 Sages... 17 insanely powerful ninjas that suddenly went missing after Wesobi was taken... Scary, you know that I’m on to something...And they don't even need the 17... From my research and calculations, they need only 9...”
“Yes, some connection exists. But, we don’t know what it is... I mean, they can simply be working to stop it... I don’t know... I don’t see some of those guys trying to release it. I mean, most of them are able to destroy a whole village alone with a finger flick, so power is something they already have. What would be the motivation?”
“Madness never has a motivation... But the story doesn’t end here. Apart from the missing Sages I found out that Caliburn had taken 6 of the 7 Swordsman Swords from their users when he disappeared. The only one remaining is this one... the Water Goddess” said scorps as he reveals the wrapped unknown sword he had to be in truth, Izuna’s Water Goddess.
“YOU! We searched for that for weeks! You took it??? Scorps...why didn’t you trust me???”
“Well, you’d only try to stop me...”
“...”
“Well, whats done is done. However, it worries me that he took all the swords. And I found evidence that most of the Sages took with them multiple powerful things, as if gathering their power. And, then, in Kirigakure, in Lili’s quarters, I found... the Book of Profecies...”
“What? but... Alucard, did he know?”
“I don’t think so but he disappeared as well so its uncertain... However... I know for sure... She knows about the Profecy...”
“We are running around in circles. All this mishmash information doesn’t say much. We are here, 6 months later, knowing little more than we did 6 months ago... Wesobi and Lawliet are real...As is what they carry inside... the profecies are works of demented drunken old bosses... I mean, did the Panda Sage ever say anything worth listening? And did the Macaw Prince ever make a real profecy? What about the Old Toad Sage? Come on... Most of them don't even know what day it is...”
Scorps waited before replying, as if chewing on each word carefully before speaking “The revival of the yōkai and the yūrei will be set upon the blood of two innocents: the vessels of misfortune. Their battle will reduce the world to embers of sorrow and pain.”
