i dont wish to believe Dorian gray was gay, the author was, but that dosent mean Dorian himself is gay, that painter is an artist and not gay.

i like the league of extraordinary gentlemen version the best so far

dorian gray has a lot of potential to be a lady's man and be cool and be tough, more people would like him

is there any other characters in books who are like a straight Dorian gray

I think Dorian was straight but Basil was most likely gay. Either way it's an incredible book.
basil is the biggest weirdo in the book, he is married right, but does he ever say he did gay things? dorian gray character has so much potential, if he is straight, i am a straight man and i think the heterosexual Dorian gray concept is cool. that painter needs to choose his words better, him and basil kind of ruin the intro of the book.

Dude. . . . . . . . SERIOUSLY??That movie is like 100 years old and Wilde is just some dandy thats too full of himself just like every victorian in his era was.
That. . .that. . .movie. . . >_-

I think the fact that Basil has an obsession with Dorian could very well prove his homosexuality. Then again Dorian was obsessed with Lord Henry. Wilde was imprisoned for being a homosexual so it's no surprise that he would make a statement by having homosexual characters.

sorry i made a mistake, Basil is the painter right? and Lord Henry is the mentor, i think. basil talks about dorian like a form of art, which can sound very gay, but lord henry is married, i think, but is he gay, lord Henry confuses me, because i cant figure him out.

Yep, Basil was the painter ^.^ And yes, he does refer to Dorian as a form of art, but I feel like everything he said had some underlying lust in it. Basil was particularly attached to the painting because, as he said, he put so much of himself in it. I think the painting was essentially a confession that he was in love with Dorian.

Yes, I think Lord Henry was married, but in the very beginning of the book he admits to being unfaithful. He practices his philosophy of hedonism throughout the book, which would most likely include having affairs with other women.

but is lord Henry gay? hedonism is all about pleasure and less pain and less stress

the beginning of the book with basil and lord Henry talking about Dorian sounded very gay, and the audio book made it sound more gay

but i think of basil like Michelangelo sculpting the statue of david, but sometimes i think i wish basil was straight, so i am a little biased.
