The Sound 5 and Naruto's Team

DO you guys think if they didn't send Naruto's Quad after them and had sent actual Jonin or Chunin ninja they could have retrieved sasuke

and imagine garra and his team didn't come and that kimimaro still came

I honestly disagree....I felt like even at the end of Part I, the Jounin like Kakashi, Gai, and even Asuma would have been easily capable of dealing with the situation...the largest problem being Kimmimaru due to his KKG!

Any other jounin that we know by name probably could have handled the Sound 4. Now Kimimaro is different, you would need someone with really good reflexes to fight him. I think Gaara and Lee were best to fight him, Kakashi at the time would have made a good opponent though.

Kidomaru would had given them plenty of issues and maybe beaten one or two of them. His webbing attack adsorbs chakra, even Itachi and Sasuke used Amaterasu on it, instead of trying to cut it.

Pretty much this. Anyone else and the outcome wouldn't have changed much, after all they did ambush some higher ranked ninja while leaving the area around the village, if I'm not mistaken.

it's all about match-ups, sure someone can be ranked higher than another but that doesn't mean someone beneath him/her cant defeat them. Btw Kim>Asuma overall IMO

Agreed, though he'd probably need to use the Sixth Gate to beat Kimimaro. That'd also mean he'd be too tired to chase/fight Sasuke.

Team Naruto would have retrieved Sasuke if all persons used all abilities. The team Tsunade sent should have been more than capable of their task.

I feel like Asuma got short changed here. He was definitely better than Hidan all around the dude just had one major handicap that was hard to overcome.

I always wondered what they thought Sasuke would do when/if they retrieved him.. Did they think he was going to stay in the leaf playing hop skotch... They didn't think he would run away again or someone like Kabuto would come get him..
