Ok. Please don't take this literally as i am typing this... "theory" out right now as i'm thinking of it.
Here goes.
As we know the SO6P was the creator of modern ninjutsu and predicted that there will be a new Sage that will recreate the 10 tails and bring peace to the earth. It has been greatly alluded to that this next sage is Naruto.
Here's where the crazy theory begins. Now, let's say that the SO6P got his power from what is known today as Senjutsu; the power to take nature chakra from the earth which makes yourself more powerful overall. I've seen many theories that say the sage got his power because of Sage chakra and whatnot.
Toward the end of his life the sage was said to have divided up the 10 tail's chakra into the nine tailed beasts of today.
Now.... and stay with me here... let's say that this took a toll on the sage's body, and instead of dying, which everyone thought (much like madara at the end of his fight at the final valley), he lost control of his senjutsu abilities and turned into a toad. Not a stone toad, but just a toad.
Perhaps this turned him mad, or perhaps the fact that he had been living for centuries took a toll on his mind and made him somewhat senile in his old age, but retained his foresight and ability to see into the future.
You may see where i'm going at this point, hopefully you've stayed with me.
What if the SO6P turned into the Great Toad Sage...?
Crazy, i know. But like all crazy theories i have some evidence. (But you don't have to believe it because i'm just bullshitting right now)
For starters, the Toad Sage's eyes have never been seen before. He always keeps them closed as far as i know. With such foresight and mastery of senjutsu, he could remain alive and teach a new generation about his discoveries on ninjutsu and senjutsu.
Also the Toad Sage seems to have either made the prophesy, or greatly believes in the prophesy of the one to save the ninja world. The same prophesy the SO6P spoke of to the nine tailed beasts.
Next, Fukasaku and Shima are over 800 years old, making them over 8x madara's assumed age when believed that Tobi really was Madara. Seeing as how Madara helped found the village, that makes Fukasaku and Shima 8x older than the leaf village itself, and around 700 years older than the great ninja wars that plagued the nations before the creation of the hidden villages.
If this is true, how old must the Great Toad Sage be? Fukasaku and Shima seem middle aged compared to the toad sage, which seems to put the Toad Sage at at least 1000 years old, with the more likely age being somewhere around 1500 years old.
I am LITERALLY pulling this stuff out of my ass now so please don't judge, but this though randomly came into my mind today as i was mowing the lawn. Let me know what you think... :shrug:
