Do you know how people get over fear of heights? They get pushed out of a plane during flight (sky-diving! They don't try to kill people, GEEZ!!!!). You can do something simmilar. Also, do you realize that those ashes in your hands are technically still books. Do you think Superman can tolerate Kyrptonite dust, just not the whole thing? I don't think so.
