I have a feeling this series will end with a Neon Genesis Evangelion type of ending. I think Madara will win this current fight, use the infinite tsukiyomi, then Sasuke will defeat him. Then he will steal Madara's infinite tsukiyomi ability somehow using his EMS. Meanwhile, Naruto will gain control of the Juubi.

Juubi mode Naruto will fight EMS Sasuke(+ whatever power up he has) at first. Then after much talking, they both decide in order for Naruto to fulfill Jiraiya's dream of peace in the shinobi world, as well as for Sasuke to find peace within himself after the pain the Uchiha's massacre caused him, and to ensure such a tragic event never occurs again, is using the infinite tsukiyomi. Naruto will allow Sasuke to use the juubi in him to do it. Think about it, there's no other way for Naruto to save the shinobi world and become the child of prophecy he is meant to be.

I think Madara will kill Obito, Kakashi, Gai, the Konoha 11, and a bunch of other shinobi first. Then Sasuke will come and fight him and defeat him somehow and taking his infinite tsukiyomi. Then after that he will fight juubi mode naruto and they will decide to do this after seeing how much pain there is in the shinobi world. They will realize that to bring peace it is the only way.

The whole point of this show is overcomming obstacles and realising goals with your own will, with your own determination. Not letting yourself get consumed by negative emotions and staying strong to the positive ones.
Forcing people inside a dreamworld, is exactly the opposit of this.
You wouldnt need to overcome or realise anything, because it would be done for you.

After the infinite tsukiyomi they could show the new world... where even the dead are brought back and everyone is happy. They could show Obito, Rin, and Kakashi all happy together.
