Being that Kakashi had easily one of the most tragic childhoods in the series, the dark side could've overtaken him.
If Kakashi decided to wreak havoc on the world after following Obito's first "death", the world would've been in for some misery.
I'm sure that evil Kakashi would tinker with forbidden scrolls and locate some of Hashirama's DNA to increase his chakra levels, just like Orochimaru. Plus, he'd still have Kamui + his god-like strategic mind.

Evil Kakashi would be a much more formidable villian than Orochimaru, Pain, Obito, Madara, and definitely Kaguya.

I know that many good characters like Naruto would be scary as villains. It's just that Kakashi's 10/10 intellect + Kamui would make him the most dangerous.

The shinobi world did dodge a bullet, not because evil Kakashi would be too OP to stop, but because if it were some other sensei, Naruto would have developed differently (he'd probably not encounter Zabuza and he'd become a normal shinobi, ruthless, heartless...., or he'd encounter Zabuza and he'd be dead, or some other unforeseeable probably bad circumstance).

Ot: Evil Kakashi would be OP if and only if he has a goal, and I don't see him having a solid goal, he's too smart to be Obito or pain, so I see him ending up as a "Zabuza" wanting a coup or something along those lines like Sasuke.
