The Sharingan only for Males?

I personally have never seen a woman with it.

Sharingan is awakened through a difficult circumstance/emotional stress, I would say at the time uchiha clan came to be only the men went to the battlefield which is the best way to unlocking sharingan and stayed like that till uchiha massacre
