I don't know if I'm the only person or is this a rare thing to say for some strange reason, but common sense is telling me that ending on the Pain Arc wouldn't have made no sense whatsoever. I don't know why people say that honestly, yeah let's forget all about Sasuke and his revenge, also Obito would have been on the loose, Naruto wouldn't have been able to control the Nine-tails to this day, Naruto wouldn't have met his mother and gotten closure on that, and so much more plot points that are very important! So tell me, how does ending the series at the Pain Arc make any sense at all?
No idea what you want to say. I think Naruto doesn't ended at the Pain Arc .

I'm pretty sure that if Kishi actually ended on this arc, that he would've made everything fit for it. Why are you guys forgetting that? This is his story after all. Heck, he could've ended it on Part 1 if he wanted. It just doesn't mean that everyone would be satisfied & having everyone satisfied is impossible.

An ending, no. I'm all for a timeskip tough.

Not only would the past villains' return would feel different, but also it would be a reason for Sasuke/Naruto to justify their power.
Now its like they got strong overnight. In less than an year naruto got from a nuub to soloing Pain and after he got full control over Kurama he is way above 99% of current shinobis alive.
Its ridiculous.
I feel like it's been rushed. With a timeskip Kishi could've elaborated more things and focus on the story more.
This would have been great, actually.

The other characters would have been a bit stronger too, with a simple explanation - time. That's what bugs me about Shippuden, most characters lag behind Naruto, when previously they were pretty strong. Everyone is a goddamned fodder.
