I don't know if I'm the only person or is this a rare thing to say for some strange reason, but common sense is telling me that ending on the Pain Arc wouldn't have made no sense whatsoever. I don't know why people say that honestly, yeah let's forget all about Sasuke and his revenge, also Obito would have been on the loose, Naruto wouldn't have been able to control the Nine-tails to this day, Naruto wouldn't have met his mother and gotten closure on that, and so much more plot points that are very important! So tell me, how does ending the series at the Pain Arc make any sense at all?

Tobi could have been killed off in the Deidara fight
Itachi could have been left a villain and Sasuke could have returned after beating him
The rest of the Akatuski could have helped with Pains Invasion

It was possible to end it at Pain but yeah

Obviously not if the manga went the same. :| But, he could've been the FV if Kishi changed things up a bit.

You misinterpret what they (and myself,) mean. The Pein arc should of been the last arc. It had the approriate tones. Everything else should of been done before it, and edited to fit the story.

Instead of a build up towards Juubi Jins, Madara and Kaguya. It should of been directed at Pein.

It means after Pain arc manga went to downhill and shoupd have neen cut off right there.

Tbh not answered questions sounds better than whatever last few arcs are.

Naruto had achieved the ultimate peace and actually brought the village back together. In the same arc he met his father who told him the story of what really happen. So yeah I would not mind if the manga ended in this arc.

Okay, but it was revealed Tobi was the real leader of Akatsuki many chapters before the arc even began. So we all knew Pain wasn't the actual head guy in charge, why would the story end on the fake leader of Akatsuki when the real one is still on the loose? Doesn't make sense to me honestly. I never saw the Pain Arc as "end of the series" material.

If Kishi had chosen not to make Tobi the "real leader", or Pein kill him off; it was possible.

What about the other characters in the series like Sasuke, Obito, Kakashi, Kabuto, and etc? Plus it wasn't true peace yet as Tobi was still trying to bring the Juubi back to life.

Why would Nagato kill off Tobi? Nagato was wrapped around Obito finger. He obeyed everything the man said in order to see his dream come true.

:leaf: You aren't very good at picturing something non-canon are you? Lol It could have turned out that Nagato was actually using Obito.

Well they don't matter since the series is about Naruto. Lol (Naruto fan logic)

An ending, no. I'm all for a timeskip tough.

Not only would the past villains' return would feel different, but also it would be a reason for Sasuke/Naruto to justify their power.
Now its like they got strong overnight. In less than an year naruto got from a nuub to soloing Pain and after he got full control over Kurama he is way above 99% of current shinobis alive.
Its ridiculous.
I feel like it's been rushed. With a timeskip Kishi could've elaborated more things and focus on the story more.
