South East of India, in the bay of Bengal exist a tribe shrouded in mystery. Near naked, woolly hair and short in stature. They are indigenous, "dubbed people of the earth" well don't be fooled. In case you plan any visits to them, write all your goodbye letters to your family first because this is no friendly tribe, they're WARRIORS...
This tribe has survived in the same island for over 60 000 years, being almost complete isolated to the outside world that their language is not even mutually intangible to the closest Andaman tribe. The Sentinel island is completely covered by a forest up to its coats making any aerial snooping impossible.
2004 tsunami decimated many establishments, killing and injuring over 200 000 lives on its path of destruction. The Indian government sent helicopters to the sentinel island to see if there were any survivors in the tribe,boy were they shocked to see a Sentinel warrior greeting them with a bow and arrow showing a "we don't need your help" posture.
There have been few attempts to make contact in the last 2 centuries, all of them ending in dismal failure. Showing how the tribe refuses any outside contact.
*early 1800s, an Indian convict escaped maximum security to the island. In a few days his body was recruited in a shallow grave with throat slit.
*late 1800s, British colonist in their "pacifying ways" retrieved 2 sentinels elders and kids. Bathed them and gave them gifts. The elders died within few weeks of being exposed to outside world diseases, the kids were dropped on the island and disappeared to never be seen again.
*2006, two illegal fishermen were slaughters and buried when they drifted to the island resulting from a drunk night.
These are just few encounters, I mentioned. The tribe is not a friendly one, nor an open one. Very few pictures of them exist, mostly are poor quality. In 21st century they continue to be the sole tribe that no one has ever caught them on a video, known for the ferocity that's all for the greater good.
This tribe continues to hunt my fantisies, I won't stop in studying them. I may not have any anthropology qualifications but I will one day bring greater light to this topic
