All I see are the same boring Rasengan and Kage bunshin techs when he can take them to the next level. If he wants, Naruto can channel bijuu KKG to his clones like Obito did with 6POP but doesn't. He can use Mokuton or any other element ninjutsu for that matter but doesn't.

Kishi has been holding him back since part 1 for the sake of plot and money and it angers me coz he could do so many feats that would make his character better without ruining the theme of "hard work".

When Naruto used TSB he never bothered trying to use them to Obito's extent or make them larger like a TBB. He has infinite possibilities because RSM wielders can use ANY element including KKG, he can use almost any jutsu but sticks to Fuuton instead; not to mention he's always spamming overpowered jutsu which in my opinion makes him look like a rookie even though he isn't.

And the whole "rustiness" was such a load of BS for an excuse. He has Hagoromo's body and sensing ffs, it means he has the strongest physical condition and reflexes in NV, he has no excuses to be physically weakened to the extent fodders can hurt him, I never saw Hiruzen complain about rustiness when Oro attacked him.

One thing, look back to where it was stated that Naruto was rusty. They weren't talking about his physical body, it was mentally.

His battle senses were rusty from not being in battle.

It was purely comic relief and was never intended to be taken seriously. If we look at this from a real life perspective, the technique wouldn't have done anything to Kaguya. But this is a manga and Kishi intended to tone down the stress a bit with a joke.

I mean all he is doing essentially is creating shadow clones while using the transformation jutsu. Why does that require training since he mastered both of those techniques?

True, isn't a Hokage's job meant to be to protect the village? How you going to protect a village if you get wrecked by BS weak attack like that? HE CAN TRAIN WITH KAGE BUNSHINS. THE MOST NERFED ASPECT OF NARUTO. HE CAN LITERALLY LEARN ALL JUTSU IN KONOHA INCLUDING A LOT OF KKG JUTSU BUT NOOOO, can't spam a few Kage bunshins and have them learn new techniques while he does his job.

Gaiden had appalling writing, let's be honest. And did no justice to what Naruto and Sasuke should really have been like. They went from God Tier at the end of one series to Fodder Tier at the beginning of the next series.
