I don't want to sound like the bastard who bursts the bubble, but.... there are countless jutsus that use that hand sign... the manga is filled with people making that hand sign. Pick a character at random and most likely there will be a panel where you can see that hand sign.

The jutso Obito preformed was to become Jinshuriki, Gaara already was Jinshuriki and the jutso he preformed was to let the bijuu go wild. There is absolutely no similarity between neither the jutso nor the objetive of the jutso.

Obito preformed a sealing technique on the Juubi, Gaara preformed a forced sleep onto himself. Again no similarity.

Sometimes looking too hard for paterns will make you see paterns everywhere, even when there aren't any to be found.

cool find, however, seals are just seals, there are 12 and there are thousands of techniques which derive from them.

for instance, the jutsu deidara uses to explode his clay bombs and the jutsu oro used to paralyze anko both use the same one handed seal. and tobirama was famed for using jutsu requiring dozens of handseals in one or two seals.

also, since obito hadnt yet made himself jinchuuriki, that feigning sleep technique wouldnt have accomplished anything.
