It clearly means, that individually, they are both incomplete.


Yin and Yang. Darkness and Light. When those two join together, only then can true power be realized!





Naruto's Rikudo Mode is only halfway complete. He needs the Yin half of Kurama to reach perfection.

I'm guessing because Minato hasn't perfected his own Kyuubi mode like Naruto has. Naruto and the Kyuubi(Yang) are in total sync with each other, Minato might just be using the Kyuubi's(Yin) chakra like Naruto was before he reached Bijuu mode.


Another reason might be that Naruto is literally, the reincarnation of the Sage of the Six Path's. That's why the Kyuubi mode looks completely different on him, it gives him a cloak when he isn't wearing one, much like the silhouette of The Sage.


One thing I am sure of is this, Naruto has only realized half of his Jinchuuriki powers, he needs the other Kyuubi from Minato.

Another reason might be that Minato was brought back with the Edo Tensei, he doesn't have a real, living body. Therefore, he cannot attain Bijuu Mode like Naruto.

It took all the akatsuki a few days to extract one and they had to be perfectly still and in sync and use gedo mazo

Yes but that was forceful extraction. If a Jinchuuriki wishes to release the beast within him, all he has to do is break or open the seal and let it out.
