The Sannin and the Uchiha Affair

When I think about it, the Sannin should have known what the Uchiha situation was. These three shinobi were students of the Hokage responsible for the mission to kill off the Uchiha. All three of them were strong contenders for the position of Hokage, so they should have been informed on the situation. Also, Orochimaru and Jiraiya were research enthusiasts, so I find it hard to believe that they did not find out the truth on their own.

Do you guys think the Sannin should have known/did know? Why or why not?

Dude, Kishimoto thinks you should obey the government even if they're oppressing you. You think he'd make panels exposing Konoha for being evil and showing the Sannin the truth?

And what could Orochimaru say? He's immoral so...

I believe that the way the Leaf officials handled the Uchiha situation was reckless and stupid. The best way to deal with that would have been to elect Fugaku as an official. That would have given a voice to the Uchiha.

Tsunade was already gone. The others could have possibly known.

They all were kinda rouge at this point , they probably didn't care except orochimaru. Though Hiruzens words to Sasuke suggest that they didn't know

The sannin probably would've been too much for the uchiha
Orochimaru genjutsu blitzted aside, they can cover too much too fast and kill.

Probably sannins are why leaf was confident of taking on uchiha and winning. I guess they just didn't care and left it to hokage.

Politics, and social standings is why the Sannin didn't get involved in the Uchiha affair. Truthfully speaking, politics regarding Konoha, and the other villages are one of the most interesting things in the manga, as well play the biggest role in it all.
