The Sage's strange name

I think at least most of you agree with me on the strangeness of his name ( I mean full name). And I'm sure Kishi has deliberately chosen this name to signify sth which will be unfolded in the next chapters. Do you agree dudes? What's your thought?

Plus: Ootsutsuki has similarity with Akatuski =D

Tsuki = moon

allow me to shed some light on the name. hagoromo means heavenly kimono of angels; simplified into angel's robe. Ootsu or utsu eans to avenge or to destroy or to shoot at. Tsuki is moon. combine the two words together it means to shoot at/destroy the moon. when you combine the name Hagoromo and ootsutsuki may mean 'the one with the kimono of angels that shot at the moon'. of course this is a very rough and LITERAL translation just like akatsuki means red moon it actually means dawn (notice the imagery used). most probably the sage's name is the same thing, it has a simolified much more meaningful translation.

I thought it was interesting(and I'm sure it has a reason) that the name contains Tsuki Just like Tsukiyomi.

Kishi is a d umb @ss and he lost his touch at writing stories, he Ruined the naruto series... the series would've been better if he had ppl writing plots for him to choose. instead, he wrote it himself. he sucked. F uck Kishi

It was on purpose. So much of the series was inspired by tales/religion.

The whole thing was foreshadowed and nobody picked up on it, the two sons are like Cain and Abel, the older becoming jealous of the younger because the father (Adam/Hagoromo), favoured the younger.

anyway,as far as i know,hagoromo was the name of ancient mythic nine tailed fox yokai in japan or so i have read in net.
