you know how the sage of six path's elder son had freaky looking eyes? i think these eyes were a mutated eye in between EMS and the rinnegan we see now. i think the sage had these same eyes at first and after becoming the jink of the juubi, it evolved into the version we see today.

does it make sense for the series to go from EMS to rinnegan without exploring a midpoint eyes if they existed between the EMS and rinnegan.
