In a way, the sage is the Juubi's son.
His mother, a princess, ate the fruit from the Tree.
The fruit is from the Juubi.
The sage was born, with power from the Juubi inside him.
So the sage has power from his mother, from his father and from the Juubi.
You can exclude his father if his mother could somehow give birth with only the fruit so ate from the Juubi or by some other means like a jutsu, but lets assume for now, the sage had a human father.
The sage can even still be related to the Uzumaki's.
His father could have been Uzumaki.
The sage was born with the Juubi's power already inside him at birth.
This explains greatly, why the sage was so powerful.
He might have even been born with the Rinnegan in his eyes already.
The sage seals the Juubi inside himself and becomes a jinchuriki.
In a way, Naruto is similar.
His mother has Kurama sealed inside her (Kurama representing the fruit/Juubi power).
She gives birth to Naruto, who was already influenced by Kurama's chakra, before birth).
Naruto's human father is Minato.
Naruto has Kurama sealed inside him.
Naruto is a jinchuriki and has powers from the other bijou as well.
Both the sage and Naruto's families, tryed to stop the war
and had high positions in their country (princess, hokage).
