The Sacred Vow
In your absence, empty I am,
A pain in my chest, an aching in my heart,
If it was forever, I would be eternally damned,
So take my hand, and I’ll do my part.
I’ll take your pain, and throw it all away,
I’ll be your lover, and erase all your doubts,
I’ll be your guide, and take you away from the path of those led astray,
Your sadness will turn to bliss, as does mine when I see your adorable pout.
On the days the sun shines, I’ll take your hand in mine,
And we’ll make the sacred vow, to be together forever,
And on the days it rains, we’ll take it as a sign,
That things will always get better, there will be no doubt whatsoever.
So off we go, on the journey to our happiness,
Into the sunset we go, your rose red lips glistening,
Your cheeks a similar colour, your expression the epitome of bliss,
My feelings inside, vibrant and flickering.
I feel your grip on my hand tighten, the smile on your face,
Lighting up my life, something I will always miss,
